Maybe you're a new fan or maybe you just never knew how dope this release was, but back in 2002 it was the same story. EL-P released his first solo album three years after the official arrival of Def Jux to a barrage of positive reviews and critical acclaim. Angry as hell and letting his lyrics run wildly over his signature gritty, futuristic production. Not big on guest appearances, he pretty much stuck with members from the Jukie roster with cuts and some very eerie scratches by DJ Abilities. Overall, 5 years ago when this dropped, the underground wasn't ready, and it hit with a very loud bang. | |
