Common's tenth studio album is the follow-up to 2011's The Dreamer/The Believer. The release date is the 20th anniversary of Common's 1994 album Resurrection.

The title ''Nobody Smiling'' is inspired by Common's troubled hometown of Chicago. ''We came up with this concept Nobody Smiling [and it] was really a thought that came about because of all the violence that was going on in Chicago, or that is going on in Chicago...'' -- Common hopes the music will serve as a call to action.

Some vivid pictures are being painted on this brand new album from the old school yet still fresh sounding Chicago MC, Common! I liked the masterful beat and lyrics on ''Kingdom''. The drums were snapping, the choir was rocking and Common killed it as a vet should. We all should peep this album and support the message Common is spittin! Produced by No I.D.!
