And Then You Shoot Your Cousin is a concept album, ''in the spirit of undun,'' according to Black Thought, ''but it's not just about just one kind of character, we create quite a few different characters.... We as artists, musicians, Philadelphians, New Yorkers, we as black men, we're familiar with very many of these characters, and we kind of introduce them to the rest of the world in a manner that makes them more easily understood than maybe seeing it.''

The Roots will be around forever I hope and for good reason. They are like the Beatles of hip hop. They are so dope and everybody likes them. ''Understand'' is a funky track with some nice keys, smooth hook and dope raps from Dice Raw, Greg Porn and Black Thought of course. ''When The People Cheer'' is one of the best Roots songs ever though. The Piano sample is so raw, the chorus is beautifully sung and Black Thought has some vintage lines. Peep the cool claymation video they have for the song too. The last song is just about the best vibe ever with the happy piano and cool vocals from Raheem DeVauhn. This is a song any fan of good music can enjoy! I just wish all the groups from when I was a kid stayed this good!
