Slaughterhouse members Crooked I, Joe Budden, Joel Ortiz and Royce Da 5'9'' originally boasted, upon first forming Slaughterhouse in 2009, that they were gonna bring hip hop back to its roots with raw rhymes and harder beats. I have to say they have certainly lived up to that promise!
It's a group whose members you may have varying opinions on, but when they're all together it's actually very good! Each member has experienced moderate mainstream success, but their connections to the modern rap scene have proven to be a worthy ally, as some of the themes they are rallying against are actually what's elevating the popularity of their message thanks to help from supporters like Eminem, who helped produce almost all of the new album!
No one comes off claiming they're harder than they actually are -- not the purpose of Our House -- and all of them share a love for preserving hip hop's originality by honoring hip hop's past and making sure that there's both the feel and sound of East Coast, West Coast and Southside styles. Featuring Eminem, Busta Rhymes, Cee Lo Green and additional production by No ID and more. | |
