| H.N.I.C. 3 follows in the footsteps of its two predecessors (2000 and 2008 respectively) and it features a rejuvenated, but still strange and magnetic Prodigy aggressively debating about life, prison, religion and conspiracy theories. Prodigy's gritty and poignant storytelling is laid on a bed of captivating beats provided by familiar collaborators like Alchemist, as well as Sid Roams. As a member of Mobb Deep, even back in the day they were known as some of the grittier and darkest artists of the golden era of hip hop, and Prodigy has consistently been able to paint the most realistic images of a troubled generation, eternally battered and scarred by unfavorable family relations, unfair social settings and an unusual, sometimes dysfunctional, lifestyle. Since serving his 3 year prison sentence he is on the path of a comeback, releasing an autobiography and a documentary about his life, with recent and successful Mobb Deep tours and appearances at prestigious festivals like SXSW. | |
