| Raincheck is the first full-length solo album for San Diego's own emcee/singer/producer iD (member of Genius of Soul). Here's his statement about the album: ''Raincheck is the struggle to achieve rebirth. It's the day we've all been waiting for but seems missing from our calendar. It's another chance to visit the crossroads with that brand new song. This album is an explosion of raw hip hop and electronic music. It is the second solo album that I have produced, written, and performed. It is a book of songs, stories, and poems written over the past 5 years that range from personal tales to political protests. I reached out to jazz musicians, classical musicians, and some producers to complete this vision. Others were written with the help of samples and 808s, recorded in my bedroom. From a song recorded in my hometown, to one written in a rain-forest, to one written and recorded in my hotel room during the 2009 presidential conventions, Raincheck spans over a vast distance of time and space.'' | |
