| Probably some of the strangest and most bizarre rap I've ever heard. Not much is known about Curtis Plum but he found his way to Sage Francis' Strange Famous Records with his very own full-length co-produced by Reanimator. Curtis is essentially playing a character who makes Casio keyboard beats and raps in a weird Katharine Hepburn accent. Hip hop humor when done right can be really funny but often annoying, oddly enough, Curtis Plum seems to have found some middle ground here but you definitely get the vibe that this guy is a little disturbed if it weren't for all the jokes. His character observes both the un-cool and the uber hip in our society and tries to make sense of it in his own way with rap about the subjects like "Bike Cops," "Call My Cellphone," and "Vin Diesel." | |
