| Back in 1972 the reclusive Jack Slew led a psych/rock band that released a limited (50 CDs!) album "Dust Commander." In 2005 Jack Rowlands started working on a documentary film about Jack Slew and his band. Rowlands approached Kid Koala and Dynomite D to create the soundtrack, using Slew's finished and unfinished material. The film may never happen, but the music meanwhile has taken on a life of its own, becoming a live show with six turntables and the addition of drums, bass, keys and guitars played by the ex-Wolfmother rhythm section and production by Mario C (best known for his work with the Beastie Boys). | |
