Brother Ali's main tour DJ BK-One and a mountain of records he amassed while in Brazil with help from Benzilla on production present a collection of Brazilian funk-inspired hip hop like no other. Rhymesayers is having a stellar year with releases from Brother Ali, Toki Wright, Eyedea and Abilities, Abstract Rude and now Radio Do Canibal! This is a soothing and satisfying listen from start to finish featuring guest appearances by Brother Ali, Slug, P.O.S, Raekwon, Black Thought, I Self Divine, The Grouch, Murs, Toki Wright, Blueprint, Haiku D'Etat Scarface and more. Right up there with some of our other favorite producer presented compilations in 2009 like DJ Spinna's Sonic Smash or Ancient Astronauts' We Are To Answer and DJ JS1's No Sellout.

"Radio Do Canibal" -- out TODAY!!!

"Radio Do Canibal" dropped today. All the music is inspired by the records BK-One collected in Brazil, and it features some of the best MC's in the game right now. Production was handled by Benzilla (a dope beatmaker from MN) and BK-One

BK One Here I Am feat. Phonte, Brother Ali, & The Grouch
Rhymesayers has always been a ridiculously stacked label. But this year, they just continue to up the ante, what with the new Brother Ali album coming soon and that excellent Toki Wright record this summer. Not to mention the fact the third volume in the Felt (Murs and Slug) series is coming this autumn with Aesop Rock behind the boards. The track Here I Am, is funky-as-hell and features three solid verses from Phonte, Brother Ali, and The Grouch. Tigallo also handles the smooth hook over a killer beat crafted by Benzilla, who you know for his work with Toki Wright, Big Quarters, and others. To shout out DOWNLOAD THIS repeatedly would be useless, because one look at this post's title will have you clickin like a madman (or woman) to hear that new shit.
