DESCRIPTION
High Priest, Beans and M. Sayyid reunite to form the Anti-Pop Consortium after disbanding in 2002 due to creative differences. Before the break-up one final album, Antipop vs. Matthew Shipp, was completed and released in 2003. Floating around in the scene with solo and side projects over the years... Anti-Pop started to sound... a bit poppy. The rejoined forces for major tour dates across the US and Europe and eventually came together to work on a brand new album! Fluorescent Black once again finds the group in experimental territories not yet charted, because most of this, just like the old stuff, is on some outer space 'ish! They attempt several genres here with their abstract hip hop fusion, not forgetting that fourth member Earl Blaize is back producing. Every album has been a very strange and different journey, but what they aim to do is always different than the last.
