Powers has been in the studio with such high profile and like minded artists Slaine, Big Left, & Germz (Producer) of La Coka Nostra, Main Flow, Outerspace of Army of the Pharaohs, Randam Luck, Copywrite and many local San Diego underground groups. While Verbz has also produced for C-Rayz Walz, Big Left, Copywrite, Blame One and Mr. Brady as well as numerous other local Acts. The Snare and Kick Project puts on display Jimmy Powers' battle rap presence with equal amounts attack-style beats alongside Verbz, for an EP that is hopefully just precursor of more to come from the duo in the diverse San Diego scene. | |

Definitely worth a listen..., May 4, 2009 By: Blame One - See all my reviewsBeing from SD and running into Jimmy Powers who is originally from boston, you automatically notice this cat's ambition and drive. This CD is a good reference point of what's to come. You notice that the skill and talent to ride a beat is there. The raw elements of a true emcee have started to manifest here. The beats provided by verbz aka caveman beats are nice grimy 90's style joints that keep the head noddin. Cop this and be in the loop now because Jimmy Powers has proven to me that he is a force to be reckoned with as long as he continues to take this culture seriously and appreciate its value. If he manages to maintain that integrity (which I believe he will) he will always have my co-sign..
