|Out of print for 5 years, now re-issued for 2016!|
This long awaited and highly anticipated follow up to anything from the mysterious artist now sees him drop the MF and is simply DOOM. Born Like This shows that all the alter egos and masks in the world can't hide his true identity, and if there's one thing that keeps people on the edge of anticipation with DOOM, it's the original hip hop he manages to bring us. With the exception of the J-Dilla produced ''Lightworks'' from Donuts, and the highly circulated ''Angelz'' with Ghostface, 16 tracks here were brand spanking new in 2009, with production handled almost entirely by DOOM himself and only one other by Jake One plus additional guest appearances by Raekwon and longtime friend Kurious. Squash all the rumors, DOOM is alive and well...and yes, it's kind of hard not to mention all those impostor performances and no-shows...but did it really stop enough of us from continuing to enjoy his music, or was he really just living up to the genius of his villainous persona? Only time will tell.
