Esteemed Diggin' In The Crates (D.I.T.C.) members Show & A.G first gained notoriety in the early-to-mid 90s with two critically acclaimed albums, Runaway Slave and Goodfellas and are now back together after a 10 year hiatus since Full Scale for Live Hard. An EP directed at both the new generation of hip hop fans too young to have done the ''Soul Clap'' and also to those who are already familiar with the boom bap legacy of Show & A.G. and rest of D.I.T.C's influence. The duo continues their reign as supreme lyricist with minimal guest appearances, featuring only O.C. on ''Land of the Free'' while every track is produced by Show except for ''Magic'' which is produced by E-Blaze, with DJ Premier lending his patented cuts and scratches on ''Business As Usual''. Unwavering in their quest to bring back truth and realness to the rap game, this latest offering is an admirable effort with 7 full-length tracks plus 5 selected instrumentals from the release making this just a precursor to of things to come in the future from the duo.

1.Business As Usual (feat. DJ Premier)
2.Can't Relate
3.The World Is Listening
4.Running Man
5.Land Of The Free (feat. OC)
6.Live Hard
8.Business As Usual (Instrumental)
9.Can't Relate (Instrumental)
10.The World Is Listening (Instrumental)
11.Land Of The Free (Instrumental)
12.Live Hard (Instrumental)

The Return of Show & AG! (4 stars), January 2, 2009

It's been 10 years since Show & AG graced us with some new material (1998's "Full Scale"). It's now 2008, and this legendary east coast duo returns to prove that they are still a force to be reckoned with. "Live Hard" features 7 all-new tracks by the duo, and 5 corresponding instrumentals. So what we get is a short & sweet EP. And it's so sweet that I must've bumped this a solid 25 times since I bought it. Pure and simple - every track hits. Whether he's dissing R. Kelly over the DJ Premier produced gem "Business As Usual" or trading verses with O.C. over my personal favorite "Land Of The Free", there are simply no misses with the production or rapping in these 7 excellent comeback tracks. That said, it's obvious that Show & AG still have what it takes to breathe new life back into hip-hop. If this EP is any indication of what they have in store for us in the future, I can only welcome these veterans back with open arms.

This is a solid release with spot on beats coupled with lyrics that are on point. Plus you get instrumentals of most of the tracks. Only potentially negative thing to say is that it isn't a full album, and this EP leaves one to be desired for.
