GZA - Pro Tools 2xLP

Quite possibly one of the better if not best Wu related releases this decade! There have been a lot of good, a few okay and others not so hot, but Pro Tools (which is referring to his mic skills) is definitely at the front of the pack! Always a fan favorite and one of the strongest members of the Clan, GZA drops everything on us all at once, deep metaphorical jewels, storytelling epics, morality tales, and the one creating the most buzz, the 50 Cent dis track! But that's nothing compared to the rest of the album and is really showing GZA just getting it off his chest, because Fiddy is yesterday's news, and there is plenty more out there wrong with the mainstream than just him these days. If there's one thing we can depend on, it's the belief that because Wu-Tang's fan base is world wide the message is always left with the people to spread the word. Their name still reaches the masses and the fire they've sparked in hip hop will never be extinguished. Featuring production by The RZA, Bronze Nazareth, Mathematics, Black Milk (Whuut!), Dreddy Krueger, and True Master to name just a few, as well as featuring RZA, Masta Killa and more!

Immortal Technique - The 3rd World 2xLP

The self-proclaimed hip hop revolutionist returns for an all-new album in collaboration with DJ Green Lantern on production along with Bronze Nazareth, Buckwild, Sick Jacken to name a few, and featuring guest appearances by Pharoahe Monch, Chino XL, Poison Pen, Psycho Realm and more! Fans have waited for quite some time for the follow up to Revolutionary Volumes 1 and 2, and there are still rumors out there circulating about The Middle Passage dropping later this year or perhaps early in '09! Hardcore and political, Immortal Technique has been heavily involved in trying to get people to get out there and vote this year, and with his fan base it's possible people will finally take his message seriously and take responsibility.

One Block Radius - One Block Radius CD

One Block Radius - Marty and MDA from L.A., and Z-Man from San Francisco - was formed in 2003, when Z-Man took the bait and agreed to roll south to sing and write some tunes with Marty and MDA. After releasing Long Story Short in 2005, they hit the road as opening act for De La Soul, The Pharcyde, Matisyahu, KRS-One, Trick Daddy and others. Since then, OBR's songs have been heard in film and tv projects including American Gun and 50 Pills (for which Marty was a music supervisor). In 2006 they also released Cut Some Static, an Internet/live-show-only original mixtape, of which only 300 original copies exist.

Shawn Jackson - First Of All 2xLP

Earlier this year Jackson garnered strong buzz with his guest appearance on the C.R.A.C. Knuckles banger "Bullet Through Me" with Blu and Ta'Raach and also worked with Newman of Giant Panda upon his return back to Los Angeles after years of stunted stops and goes in Rhode Island. It might be time to re-introduce yourself to the aspiring emcee...and the timing has never been more perfect with his new home on Tres Records.

The Gigantics - Die Already CD

The Gigantics is a five-man production team assembled by Onry Ozzborn (a.k.a. Reason and Count Draven of Grayskul/Oldominion). Die Already is their debut and features the voices of over 50 of the most influential and talented people in independent hip hop today. Far from a compilation, this album pulls disparate artists from their respective groups and weaves them together into a dream team. Among the many outstanding individuals appearing here are Aesop Rock, Murs, Mr. Lif (Def Jux), Swollen Members, Eligh (of Living Legends), Pigeon John (Quannum), P.O.S. Rhymesayers), Solillaquist of Sound, Josh Martinez, and Awol One. Though Die Already is primarily a hip hop album, The Gigantics' production takes you through alternative, metal, punk, pop, electronic, street, and club, providing a disc that will satisfy any listener.
