So, I'm quitting...

Yesterday I told my boss that this will be my last month with the company. Feels pretty good knowing that I won't be here much longer...but damn, I'm kinda nervous about finding a new job. Anyone know anyone hiring in Portland? (Oh yeah, I'm moving to Portland too!)

Why would you quit your job if you didn't have a better one lined up?

My company is looking for a group marketer/field rep for the Portland area.....

Do you have "at least 2 years of experience working in the personal lines insurance industry"?

Because I'm an idiot, okay!
My girlfriend moved to Portland last summer and I said I wanted to finish the year out with my company for the bonus, but that I'd move down at the beginning of the year. Plus, she agreed to be my sugar momma while I'm looking for a job!

No, I don't - but I have over 3 years Project Management experience in the pharmaceutical research industry...will that work?
My first job in Seattle was in the insurance industry (title insurance, so it's a little different) and I hated it. Oh, and I also got fired! I don't think I could ever work for an insurance company again...they're all devils.

Anyway, I figure I'll try looking for some work in the pharmaceutical industry just to get some money. And if I don't find anything right away I'll probably do some volunteer work with the Boys & Girls Club or something like that. Also, I just saw an ad for Lacrosse refs - it wouldn't be a true job, but it'd be a little bit of spending money in my pocket. But I'm gonna look into getting a job with Portland's new CBA team to try and get some experience that'll get me a job with the Blazers. It's a long shot, but I can dream...

In my opinion, anybody with a sugar momma can't be too big of an idiot...

man, if I still lived there I'd hook you up for at least a temp job, but must of my friends up there are kinda odd, so im not sure whats up with them right now....but you can always apply at UPS they pay good, plus a lot of cool people work there.

Good luck with that.
