Mad Cow Disease

It's here- anybody know much about it? If you don't, you're lucky. This might be the only instance where ignorance truly IS bliss. I read up on it last year, and it damn near made me never wanna eat beef again.

And they have the nerve to say the infected cow in Washington "probably" wasn't the result of terrorism. Assholes...

Yep, Everything You Know Is Wrong.

I think I'm a make a conscious effort to not eat beef. Good thing I'm not a fan of the tri-tip sammiches at the Ord market.

that is some horrible shit right there. i feel really bad for those animals. it's just a fucked up world we live in i guess. there's nothing wrong with raising animals for food but when you ABUSE them like that that makes me fucking sick. those workers HAVE to be sick people to do that type of shit. i'd like to know how many factories ACTUALLY practice these sorts of things on a regular basis or if any of this is regulated. one of the clips was from '96 so i'm wondering if anything's been done to punish these workers/owners since. i would hope these are only isolated incidents but i'm kinda scared to find out the truth. once again, like any economy of scale industry, they will NEVER STOP, unfortunately. fuck those people though.

^ WHY I'M A VEGETARIAN.

fuck commercialized slaughter.
have ne of u played Mr. Lif's Devolution game?
i have, shit is very interesting...

two facts:

>before they kill the cow, they may feed it some or all of the above:
its own shit
pieces of dead cow brains
dead cats and dogs purchased from local pounds/vets

>the average beef eating family will have more traces of shit in their kitchen sink than in their toilets.

there are sooooo many other things i could mention, but i'll leave it to yall to inform yourselves further...

it's all about awareness. the ends dont justify the means here.
many prefer to stay ignorant about these issues, but its not right.

ignorance is not bliss, it's a control mechanism, in this case the meat industry's. it's up to u to inform yourself and make your own decisions.

thats my 2 cents.

That's one of the most disgusting aspects of Mad Cow- it's not man-made, but it's spread by cost-cutting measures taken by the beef industry. The brain and spinal cord of the infected cow are what contain the lil mafuckers that spread the disease. I said "lil mafuckers" because the actual particle is a piece of a protein or some crazy shit that is tiny beyond belief and impossible to neutralize. That's the shit that scared me the most. One infected cow, ground up and turned into feed, has the potential to infect thousands of other animals.

As incurable fatal diseases go, Jakobs-whatever complex doesn't sound that bad though- just trembling and dementia until you die. At least it ain't on some Ebola shit where your whole body just turns to mush.

I heard we should expect the price of leather to rise as a result of all this, so I advise everybody to go buy their Fonzi jackets and S&M gear before this gets too out of hand.
