Atmosphere Shows...

...are they dope?

Slug and co. are coming to Portland on September 16, and I was thinking about going to it. If their shows are weak though, then I'll just wait until 10 days later when Sunspot and Ab Rude are in Portland.

Feedback is appreciated.

atmosphere shows are pretty good. cant really say much about the fanbase though, especially all the groupie chicks, atomsphere can have some of the worst.

why do all of you like standin in a room with a bunch of other guys with their heads down. i would much rather hang with a few cute girls than stand around with a crew of guys that want to rap too.

but maybe that's your thing?

Its COOL to be underground these days, you aint COOL til you are underground ...

Damn groupie hoes, but to be honest, i dont let them ruin the show for me, i enjoy the music, so im there focused on the music, not the crowd.

I've been going to Hip Hop shows for a long long time, and let me say I wish when I was younger the Hip Hop shows would have as many girls that be at Atmosphere shows now days. Sure, some of them are young and complete warning signs for an R Kelly show, but there's a lot of cool girls too. To say the majority of the girls who come to the shows are groupies is just wrong, many of them are just there for the music and fun. And just for the record, I see a good amount of the same girls at shows in the front row when it's a Legends show, Aesop Rock show or a Sage Francis show. Hey, that photo is that the girl that slapped me on stage? Hmmm...

Yes, there are some younger kids at the shows, but we fight to have as many all ages shows as possible. When you were under 18, wouldn't you have liked to be able to go to Hip Hop shows? Some cities can only have 18+ or 21+ shows and a lot of kids never get to exeperience live shows until they're much older (unless I sneak them in). I think it's a good thing to present shows to an all ages crowd and I'll stand by it.

Oh yeah, and to state that kids are drugged out at the shows is an overstatement. Sure, some kids are high, but that's every show. Sure, some kids are drunk, but that's every show. We have a bunch of straight edge kids that come as well. Word.

Lastly, we play an average of 60+ shows on one given tour and rarely are there any fights, chunks of boring downtime or overpriced tickets. We make every effort to present a good show beginning to end for everyone to enjoy themselves. The kids who come to show are very supportive and when you spent 175+ days out the year on the road, you appreciate the people who come to the shows and participate and have fun.

My name is bird and I'll be driving 8500+ miles for the first leg of this tour alone...yo.
