NEW RELEASES:
Audios - In Search of Chin CD http://www.accesshiphop.com/store/?itemid=17954 Local San Diego emcee Audios drops his debut album In Search of Chin. Ranging in styles from battle to political and personal lyrics with tributes to our sunny city with production by Mr. Ridley (Anti- Citizens), Mattlock (Kastle Kreeps), Reverb and more with guest appearances by M-Double-A-L and cuts and scratching on select tracks by DJ Marsellus Wallace. Blaq Poet - Tha Blaqprint 2LP http://www.accesshiphop.com/store/?itemid=17474 Now on vinyl! Previously when the Blaqout arrived we reported that Blaq Poet was getting a big push from DJ Premier, and now with the most prominent release yet from Year Round Records, the rugged Queensbridge emcee gets what fans were promised as he raps over an entire album's worth of Preemo beats on The Blaqprint. Led by the first single "Ain't Nuttin Changed," the album is certain to be the defining moment in a long career for Poet as he struggled but never gave up in he underground. Featuring guest appearances by NYGz, Lil Fame of MOP, and N.O.R.E. This special two-disc edition comes with the instrumentals! The Herbaliser Band - Session 2 (Ltd. Edition) 2xCD http://www.accesshiphop.com/store/?itemid=17794 I have been listening to Herbaliser for a longtime and this is one of those releases that could make anyone a fan! Now incorporating a fully realized band over many of their more recent releases this decade, this takes the sound to new heights! Preforming and recording live interpretations of many of their classic songs from the Blow Your Headphones and Very Mercenary albums, I would have to say many people have done the "live-band hip hop sessions" but this one is top of the line. With this limited edition 2 disc version you get the original Session Vol. 1 (originally recorded in 2000) now remastered as well as Session 2 recorded in March of this year! J Rocc - Taster's Choice Vol. 1 CD http://www.accesshiphop.com/store/?itemid=17920 A vintage mix of funk and breaks from the funky president J.Rocc of the World's Famous Beat Junkies. Taster's Choice Volume 1 has more of a Latin South American theme so get ready to get down! Jay-Z - D.O.A(Death of Auto-Tune) 12" http://www.accesshiphop.com/store/?itemid=17851 Oh shit! Jay-Z talking some major smack on "The Death of Auto-Tune" and it ain't no joke! Ya see there are very few things that can bring this rap mogul out of retirement and something has hit a nerve and Jay-Z is dropping names and taking no prisoners with The Blueprint 3 on the way. This wouldn't be much to talk about if it didn't have the right beat to back it up, but it's produced by NO I.D. and that makes this all the more special! You're opinions of Jay-Z may have fluctuated over the years but he still manages to surprise us with classic sounding stuff like this. He's saying what's on everybody's mind and it's important for a man in his position to get the message out rather than sit there and let this bullshit happen to hip hop over and over again. ABOUT TIME! Now go check out the video on YouTube! Koushik - KG Rhythm Trax LP http://www.accesshiphop.com/store/?itemid=17771 Fifth Installment of Stones Throw's DJ friendly Rhythm Trax series (preceded by James Pants, DJ Romes, Baron Zen, and Dam Funk). Known more for his funky yet soulful psychedelia and folk-hop, Volume 5 was sure to be a mixed bag of styles as Koushik draws upon many of his influences and has created perhaps the best one Rhythm Trax so far! This one will shock you considering what he normally does like on his most recent release Out My Window. HEAT! Remy LBO - Component 12" EP http://www.accesshiphop.com/store/?itemid=17768 Second EP from the up-and-coming producer Remy LBO. 13 tracks bringing the heavy bass and textured layers bringing to mind a combination of Dilla, Flying Lotus, Madlib, and Dabrye. If you didn't pick up the 7" scoop that up as well and DO NOT SLEEP on this one! Slaughterhouse - Slaughterhouse CD http://www.accesshiphop.com/store/?itemid=17648 In a time where hip-hop appears to be in a recession similar to our economy in general, four emcees hailing from New York, Detroit and LA have banded together to form a rap supergroup like none other. All four emcees have had their fair share of underground and major label love. All four have also been written off (with the exception of the Ortiz) after their label mishaps, only to rise again by utilizing the internet to build up massive followings. Joe Budden was working on a song called the "Leak" for his Halfway House album and enlisted the services of Crooked I, Joell Ortiz and Royce Da 5'9". The song was well received and because of the great chemistry the four had, they decided to form a rap super-group. Slaughterhouse aims to re-connect with today's misled rap fans and re-introduce them to real hip hop as they trade jabs at the mainstream and bring back the skills required to truly grip the mic. Various Artists - Dublab: Echo Expansion CD/LP http://www.accesshiphop.com/store/?itemid=17769 http://www.accesshiphop.com/store/?itemid=17770 Previously available only on vinyl as an exclusive tour EP, this expanded version compiles brand new tracks. Instrumental and experimental from some of the most cutting edge producer's and DJ's including Gaslamp Killer, Daedelus, Flying Lotus, Kutmah, Ras G, Take, Dntel and more!
