NEW RELEASES:

Amerie - Why R U 12"
http://www.accesshiphop.com/store/?itemid=17878
Def Jam finally sees the light and picks up the beautiful
singer/songwriter/actress and producer Amerie and plans to release
her new album In Love and War this fall. Last time we heard from
Amerie, she was experiencing problems getting promotion from her
label so Up Above went ahead and scooped up her single "That's What U
R" as her Because I Love It album only received UK and other overseas
play with limited US distribution. "Why R U" samples the classic
Ultra Magnetic MC's track "Ego Trippin" and once again we have to say
that we are big fans of this girl and hope that she can bring back
that real hip hop/R&B sound and smash all the pop/R&B we are being
bombarded with on the airwaves.

Blaq Poet & Premier - Blaqprint Instrumentals LP
http://www.accesshiphop.com/store/?itemid=17765
Previously only available on the second disc of the Blaqprint CD
release! Premier fans will be relieved now that the instrumentals to
Blaqpoet's Blaqprint are now available on vinyl!

Bronze Nazareth - Bronzestrumentals Vol. 1 CD
http://www.accesshiphop.com/store/?itemid=17596
As part of the driving force behind the sound of the new Wu-Tang
extended family, Bronze Nazareth has proven himself to be worthy of
RZA's mantle, as he has displayed his versatility with his
impressive skills on the boards while being equally adept on the mic.
This release focuses on Bronze's unparalleled production skill;
Bronze has laid down beats for some of the best and brightest MCs
(RZA, GZA, Masta Killa, Immortal Technique, Ras Kass, Hell Razah
and many more) and now, for the first time, his beat-making ability
takes center stage, in this unique instrumental compilation.

The Long Lost (Daedelus) - Woebegone 12"
http://www.accesshiphop.com/store/?itemid=17740
This one took us a while to finally be able to stock but after some
trouble we finally got it in! This single off of Daedelus and his
wife's full length collaboration The Long Lost on Ninja Tunes
features two tracks from the album, but the real draw here are the
two exclusive Flying Lotus versions of "Woebegone."

East Flatbush Project - First Born (Overdue) CD
http://www.accesshiphop.com/store/?itemid=17752
Spencer Bellamy is The East Flatbush Project. Originally part of
Howie Tee's "Count Disco" crew, Bellamy started out in the music biz
by deejaying block parties in Brooklyn, NY throughout the 80s, and
by 1989 he was making beats. Best known for the underground classic
"Tried By 12" from 1996 which featured the rapper Des, The East
Flatbush Project has only released top quality Hip Hop, all of which
only came out on 12" vinyl and always featured excellent unknown
rappers. First Born (Overdue): Deluxe Edition is a collection of the
tracks that Bellemy has released over the years, along with five
additional songs that never made it to wax, two remixes of "Tried by
12" that were available on a UK-only single and as an added, and very
special bonus, the seldom-seen video for "Tried by 12".

Frank Nitt - L.O.V.E. / Hollyhood 12"
http://www.accesshiphop.com/store/?itemid=17793
Detroit's Frank Nitt of Frank and Dank fame has spent his fair share
of time lately in LA hanging out with John "Illa J" Yancey, younger
brother of legendary producer James "Jay Dee aka J Dilla" Yancey, but
also making connections with some unlikely company including DJ Quick
and Snoop Dogg producer Terrace Martin. Obviously his affiliation
with J Dilla was a big help but Illa J helped push a few tracks for
him to the higher ups at Delicious Vinyl and things got moving.
"L.O.V.E" and "Hollyhood" reflect very much the rapper's recent
encounters in the City of Angels as well as just being a tribute to
the overall West Coast hip hop feel-good summer jam type ish.
Featuring DJ Quick, J Black, and Bad Lucc with original, clean and
instrumental versions of each joint...and don't sleep on that
"Hollyhood" it's pure fire!

Kool Keith - Lost Masters Collection 3xCD
http://www.accesshiphop.com/store/?itemid=17722
Hell yeah! 44 tracks on 3 CD's! The Lost Masters collection is for
the ultimate Kool Keith fan and collector. Volume 1 was released back
in 2003 but hasn't been available for quite some time. With these
rare and unreleased recordings, you get a different personality from
Kool Keith on almost every track, and it makes you wonder what
moniker could it have been planned. You'll laugh, you'll cry laughing
harder and nod your head to a bunch of bangers as this release
celebrates one of hip hop's weirdest weirdos.

Madlib & Dudley Perkins - A Lil' Light Instros 2LP
Madlib & Dudley Perkins - Expressions Instrumentals 2LP
http://www.accesshiphop.com/store/?itemid=5828
http://www.accesshiphop.com/store/?itemid=12151
Re-issued for all you Madlib heads out there! The instrumentals to
both Dudley Perkins and Madlib's full length projects together on
Stones Throw...2003's A Lil' Light and 2006's Expressions (2012 AU).
Funky and soulful traditional stuff from the esteemed producer.

Marley Marl - In Control v.1 (re-issue) 2xCD
http://www.accesshiphop.com/store/?itemid=17754
From none other than Traffic Ent. Group comes this Deluxe Edition re-
issue of Marley Marl's 1988 Cold Chillin classic In Control! This was
perhaps one of the first producer presented compilations of the time,
as Marl stepped out from behind the producing boards and conceived of
an album that would feature some of the best hip hop artists of the
time all on one album. Classic joints and posse cuts featuring Big
Daddy Kane, Masta Ace, Roxanne Shante, Kool G Rap, Biz Markie, MC
Shan and more, as well as commentary from Marl throughout the
album, the Juice Crew lives again with this release! The 2nd disc
includes never before on CD material like original 12" versions of
select tracks, remixes, and live performances. Packaging includes a
24 page book with never before seen photos, lyrics sheets and more.

Mayer Hawthorne - Just Ain't Gonna Work Out 10"
http://www.accesshiphop.com/store/?itemid=16987
Finally back in stock! We got our hands on the extremely limited red
heart-shaped 10" single from Stones Throw's latest signing (how can
we keep up with 'em?!) Mayer Hawthorne! Originally out of Detroit and
by now you've figured out he's from the group Now On and now based in
LA, Hawthorne's relationship to his new home promises to be a long
affair...written, recorded, played and sang by the aspiring artist,
"Just Ain't Gonna Workout" debuted on BBC Radio thanks to Giles
Peterson "best of 2008" list. This is the fourth time these have been
pressed up in under a year...not sure if there'll be a fifth. GO!

Poison Pen - The Money Shot CD
http://www.accesshiphop.com/store/?itemid=17792
Brooklyn mainstay and hardcore rap enthusiast Poison Pen drops his
brand new album The Money Shot on Gold Dust Media. Pen's new album
features guest spots from right hand man Immortal Technique, M.O.P.,
Silkk Da Shocker, Block McCloud and more, with production from
Tonedeff, JJ Brown, DJ Static, and J-zone to name a few.

Prayers for Atheists - Prayers for Atheists CD EP
http://www.accesshiphop.com/store/?itemid=17900
What happens when you mix spoken word with punk rock? You get signed
by Sage Francis of course! Strange Famous Records affiliate Jared
Paul and punk's Alan Hague form to combine Prayers for Atheists, and
approach this concept with the classic thrash of 80's punk rock and
political awareness. Jared Paul is an avid anti-war protester and was
recently arrested at the 2008 Republican National Convention in an
unwarranted sweep and mass arrest by law enforcement agencies. Fans
and supporters helped raise money to hire an attorney and the case
was dismissed. It's these kinds of acts of arbitrary incidents and
injustice that are covered on the album.

Question & Freddie Joachim - Study Guide CD
http://www.accesshiphop.com/store/?itemid=17926
This collaborative project started as a conversation between two like-
minded individuals, Question and Freddie Joachim. They call it,
"STUDY GUIDE: An instrumental look at scholastic development." The
concept was simple; both artists possessed a distinct sound with an
emphasis on jazz. The end result is a compilation that walks you
through one of the most progressive musical art forms. Both artists
have been spinning hip hop and jazz plus other genres since the
1990s. Freddie has produced music for many indie hip hop and soul
artists worldwide. His first album, "In With Time", was released 2008
in Japan, and featured Aloe Blacc, Blu, Munshine, Choice 37, Lauren
Santiago, Profile (The Upstarts/The Sound Providers), Surreal,
Othello, Son of Ran and more. Question started making beats with an
ASR-10. He then moved on to the MPC and has stuck to it ever since.
Question's music is an interpretation of a timeless era, purely
fueled by Jazz and Soul. This US version features eight more tracks
than the original Japan release and is limited to only 100 copies...
and we've got only a quarter of that!

Solillaquists of Sound - No More Heroes CD
http://www.accesshiphop.com/store/?itemid=17689
Since the release of their 2006 Anti- debut As If We Existed,
Solillaquists of Sound have toured the country several times over,
establishing themselves as a must-see live act with a grassroots
following. With the release of their sophomore album No More Heroes,
the Orlando based hiphop quartet composed of DiViNCi, Swamburger,
Alexandrah, and Tonya Combs have accomplished the rare feat of
creating a body of work that's as hip-shakingly gratifying to the
casual listener as it is groundbreaking, imaginative and rewarding to
fans looking for something more in the soundtrack to their lives. For
fans of Sage Francis or live sets like the Roots.

Ultimate Breaks & Beats - Instrumentals Vol. 2 2LP
http://www.accesshiphop.com/store/?itemid=17755
The Ultimate Breaks & Beats series is a collection of some of the
most sampled breaks ever compiled from music released during the
1960s, 70s, and 80s. The series has been done and redone; released
and re-released several times Up until now, these songs were never
available as purely instrumental only and producers have been forced
to work around the grunts, screams, and crooning of these classics to
isolate that perfect drum beat, breakdown, or sample. Previously,
Traffic Ent. Group brought us the El Michael's Affair interpretations
and now Mr. Chop and Friends produced Ultimate Breaks & Beats
Instrumentals Volume 2 with added bonuses including three UBB
influenced break interludes. An interesting new take as well as
being very listener, DJ, and producer friendly.
