You ever hate listening to old music?(read before trying to understand)

i was just listening to some of the clips off of 4001 and other old MJ songs...and it reminded me of a time when life was easier for me. before all the growing up, gas prices, job bullshit. you ever find yourself hating listening to older music because of that?

when you just get over having a job that went from giving you 15-20 hours a week to dropping you down to 5 hours a week, not having that money kinda pisses you off.

i feel ya!!!!

music makes me feel like that all the time (but i think hate is the wrong word, its more like a longing to be unknowing, a kinda escape)....echos from the past..trapped in time.....

theres always some songs that remind you, but there really vivid when your listening......it like "close your eyes......and return"

Yea same for me....If I listen to a cd throughout a period of time, everytime I listen to it, I automatically go back to memories I had of that experience/time, kind of like looking through a photobook of all these pictures, you get vivid memories of that time.

...for example, I bought that DJ MURGE cd in some local music store in Germany when I went to Europe last summer, and the only thing I saw that was Indie hip hop related was that cd so I bought it and constantly listened to it througout my trip....now whenever I play that cd I get such good memories of my trip, especially the grouch/bicasso track, the asop track, the ab rude track, and the psc track, yea man its a trip on how music can have such a big effect on your life, I LOVE IT!!

Meh, I have a few CD's that take me back to those days where I hated what was going on in my life and when I listen to them again it doesn't really piss me off or anything but gives me a sense of gratification because I made it through those times even though it was hard.

Aesop Rock's "Labor Days" is the first CD that comes to mind when I think of the hard times I went through. Every time I listen to that CD it just takes me back to when my family was in a bit of a rut and had to find a way to make ends meet, but when I listen to it now I'm not pissed off about it or the memories it brings back because I know I made it through and I know that I'm a better person for going through it.

It's like all about looking the postive side of things man.
