Yeah he put out a mediocre to bad free stylish cd with some other dudes called face candy. He also as crazy as it sounds put out a rock cd called carbon carousel. It's actually not bad.

he went on a emo-punkish phase doin the kurt cobain-ish with carbon carousel and the face candy was ill with the freestyle jazz band. some ppl just need to change course and experiment with other things for a while..but E&A are back and supposevly workin on a new album

I love "E&A" & "First Born" & Eyedea's solo record "The Many Faces Of Oliver Hart". Always been a huge fan of these local cats...

Anyway, Eyedea went the way of "indy rock" after "E&A". He had his own band called Carbon Carousel. My buddy bought it at one of his shows that we went to in late 2006. It sucked. Both the CD & the show. Face Candy was also terrible in my opinion.

But there is hope. Eyedea & Abilities went on a nation wide tour recently...didn't y'all get the memo? lol. Anyway, I'm sure more E&A is in the works. I'll be first in line to buy it.

for what it's worth, i respectfully disagree with these assesments of eyedea's other work. i think it's dope that one dude has two wildly different songs like "now" and "pill".

slugs little brother..copies everything he does, slug goes with a rock band, so does eyedea..slug grows his hair, so does eyedea..i dont know what happened to this dude, first born & E & A are dope, but he took a big break and went rock..hopefully the new E&A is back on track

How is Slug like Eyedea? First of all, Eyedea would kill Slug in ANY battle. His approach is definitely different, and more cocky. His subject matter & vibe is entirely different. And Eyedea was is an ACTUAL ROCK BAND. He didn't just tour with a live band and play Atmosphere songs like Slug did. He grew the hair because turned into a indy rock hippy. Nice try at the comparison though...lol

as for eyedea biting slug... slug's style has become intensely stripped down, whereas eyedea has become increasingly complex with each record. i don't see a comparison; if anything, i feel they have gone in completely different directions.

the whole "hey, that guy now has a mustache!" analogy to biting brings up an interesting question:

at what point are people crossing from manifesting style because they're influenced by the same environments to biting?

like the whole eminem and cage thing: was eminem really studying cage and saying, "this crazy white guy shit is insane enough to work!" or was he, like cage, just a pretty talented dude who had been through some ill childhood-teenage experiences that gave him plenty to rap about?

really i think he just has been overshadowed by slug and that has hurt him. i know he's totally different, he won the blaze battle, etc..i saw slug and eyedea on the wake up show doing freestyles and yes i saw eyedea had more to say and energy. when i see a live band and long hair that shit was just funny to me, it seems to be like his little bro. but my boy talked to nate(guitar guy for slug) on the last Atmosphere tour and said eyedea came by RSE wearing a shirt Eyedea is dead. dont trip i got the whole RSE catalog, Eyedea is very dope in my mind i just didnt like the direction, i want that hard hitting battle MC shit he does with some Hiphop beats and abilities scratching..
