Access Music * 1537 Garnet Avenue * Pacific Beach * CA 92109 858-270-3987 * info@accesshiphop.com Check out track listings and sound clips at www.accesshiphop.com FEATURED ITEM OF THE WEEK: Living Legends - Almost Famous (re-issue) CD http://www.accesshiphop.com/store/1708 The crew's first collective album as a whole and they bring everything to the party including the party itself! If you haven't heard this yet and are a fan of the Living Legends, then this is what you should pick up before anything else. Get a feel for each individual member as they are all extremely diverse in what they bring to the table and spit so sickly, keeping the listeners over the years addicted to their super nice style. Featuring a previously unreleased bonus track. NEW RELEASES: TomC3 & Prince Po - Saga Of The Simian Samurai CD http://www.accesshiphop.com/store/14424 Probably my favorite release of the week and sure to be talked about for the rest of the year! TomC3 is the producing mastermind behind last year's surprise sleeper Project Polaroid (with Kool Keith and Motion Man). Paired with the lyrical mastery of the legendary Organized Konfusion emcee Prince Po for some straight-up boom bap! A hard hitting affair and extremely solid throughout the entire album, this one came out of nowhere and blew us all away! DJ Vadim - Soundcatcher Extras CD http://www.accesshiphop.com/store/14289 Staying busy on a world wide tour for the better half of this year in promotion of Soundcatcher, it's a wonder DJ Vadim even has time these days to record new material. However it is thanks to his touring that we even have the Soundcatcher Extras. It features live recordings from the tour, newly inspired tracks and remixes previously available only on vinyl. Plus remixes that were submitted as part of an online contest and now compiled onto this formidable companion piece to what many already consider his best work to date. The CD includes enhanced features so you can view the videos for "Got to Rock" featuring Zion and "Black is the Night" with Katherin DeBoer. Top that! Guilty Simpson - Stray Bullets CD http://www.accesshiphop.com/store/14467 A precursor to Guilty Simpson's upcoming debut album, Ode to the Ghetto, mixed by none other than the World Famous Beat Junkies DJ Rhettmatic. Featuring tracks from his many guest appearances on other peoples albums as well as compilations and a few exclusives with tracks you may have heard produced by Madlib, Jake One, J-Dilla Black Milk and more! Heat! Kool Keith - Sex Style: Unreleased CD http://www.accesshiphop.com/store/14425 Although "Dr. Octagon" wasn't released until 1996, KutMasta Kurt was busy producing music with Kool Keith as far back as 1993. A few of these tracks have been floating around on fuzzy dubbed cassette tapes over the years and even a few have wound up on bootlegs, but now we officially get a chance to hear these archived tracks as intended. The CD is a 2,500 copy limited-edition digipack release. Each CD has been individually numbered, and includes a 12 page lyric sheet. Othello - Alive at the Assembly Line CD (WITH FREE EP DOWNLOAD) http://www.accesshiphop.com/store/13232 3rd full-length solo record from Lightheaded Crew emcee Othello. Each member's solo efforts continue to impress: last month we saw another solid album from Ohmega Watts, and here we experience introspective rhymes over a traditional combination of soulful beats and live jazzy hip-hop. With many on board offering a helping hand the album features appearances by Surreal and Pigeon John with production from Stro of the Procussions, IllMind, M-Phazes, Quannum's Vursatyl of Lifesavas and of course Othello's crew Lightheaded (Ohmega Watts and Braille). Pedro - You, Me & Everyone CD http://www.accesshiphop.com/store/14400 After last year saw the successful re-release and revamped two-disc version on Mush Records of his 2003 self-titled album, the UK's super recluse producer Pedro returns with You, Me & Everyone. An instrumental composition that will likely draw comparisons from the likes of Four-Tet, Prefuse 73 and Daedelus. Taking a quaint approach to his latest batch of compositions and building upon his flare for sonic incarnations of jazz and folk based electronica, over crisp drums and brass. Factor B - Factor Biocidal CDR EP http://www.accesshiphop.com/store/14557 Now available on limited edition mini-disc with three bonus tracks! Factor B is the side project and alter ego, self-written and produced EP by RW of the Geodesic and Manchromatic Records. An earlier work from around 2002-2003 , RW has a voice that is reminiscent of Buck 65's but a flow all his own and the production to match it, with instrumentals, interludes and full length songs! Fans of the good old days of Anticon and Mush Records take note! Infamous Mobb - Reality Rap CD http://www.accesshiphop.com/store/14443 As they emerged from the shadows and precedents started by fellow Queens Bridge sensations Mobb Deep and Nas, the Infamous Mobb continued to carry on the hardcore grittiness and graphic narratives of street life and the hustle to strive and keep shit real in this rap game. Ty Nitty, Gambino and Godfather Pt. 3 always had hard hitting guest appearances on some of Prodigy and Havoc's best work from the 90's. Reality Rap is the group's effort to be heard again as a real voice breaking through the barriers of the pop infected rap of today's airwaves. Featuring appearances and production by Prodigy, Big Noyd, Evidence, Havoc, Alchemist and Erick Sermon! RZA - World According To... Instrumentals CD http://www.accesshiphop.com/store/14528 The instrumentals to the rare European only import! Wu-fans rest easy, for now this is all we have to hold us over in the weeks ahead as we wait for the return of the Wu-Tang Clan and their rumored final release The 8 Diagrams!

Azma and Harsh Reality - West Nile 2 CD
http://www.accesshiphop.com/store/14558 Azma the Instigator and Harsh Reality of the Inthevisualz return with a follow up and a hefty amount of battle-worthy rhymes and heavy beats for West Nile 2. With appearances by Adept Poetik, Stigma. One and production by Gammaray, DJ Abzorb, Harsh himself and more! Amerie - That's What U R 12" http://www.accesshiphop.com/store/14340 As a U.S. release date for rising star Amerie's album continues to take a backseat, a single off the R&B songstress' full-length album Because I Love It finally sees the light of day... Stateside at least and with the extra help of Up Above. "That's What U R" is a serious club banger featuring Slim Thug and Fabolous and definitely a DJ's best friend right now, she's not famous (yet) and it isn't overplayed. Boscoe - Boscoe CD http://www.accesshiphop.com/store/14320 Boscoe would be considered back when, what underground is considered today. Performing unique and unconventional dark funk, disco, jazz and soul with a little bit of spoken word, this rarity from 1973 is another in an explosion of re-issues hitting the scene week after week! Considered to be an important piece of music history out of Chicago, Boscoe features the usual make-up of a tenor, trumpet, trombone, guitar, bass, and drum set but arranged in a way that was foreign to the traditional (or hit-worthy) practices of the time and sounds off with a powerful message still relevant today. For fans of other rare and recent re-issues like Pieces of Peace, East of Underground and Amnesty. Pick this up! Jaba One - Something In Common v.2 CDR http://www.accesshiphop.com/store/14526 By popular demand and without further ado...DJ Jaba One graces us with a follow up to one of the best mixes of Common ever put together. Part Deux features newer material from recent work by the artist with the same formula that made Volume 1 such a crowd pleaser! In the words of Jaba himself: "I never planned on putting together a part 2 of the 'Something In Common' mixtape, but Norm Rockwell kinda coaxed me into it. And really, I thought 'Why not?' Hopefully you enjoy this one as much as the first, if not more." Our hats off to you Jaba...nice work! Jay-Z - American Gangster CD http://www.accesshiphop.com/store/14404 Separate from the official motion picture soundtrack, this collection of all new original material is a musical journey and lyrical interpretation of mere snapshots from the film American Gangster starring Denzel Washington and Russell Crowe, directed by Ridley Scott. The conceptual full body of work from the album balances the line between pure entertainment and real life as the music is inspired by the movie, Jay-Z also draws on past and personal experiences while not glorifying the life-story of Frank Lucas (which the film is based on). The album serves as a modern day commentary about the harsh realities of the drug trade and the particular lure and temptations of the streets that lead to living the life of gangster. Mr. J. Medeiros - Half a Dream 12" http://www.accesshiphop.com/store/14523 Anyone who enjoyed the aural bliss of The Procussions will surely take note of member Mr. J. Medeiros! From his Rawkus solo debut Of Gods and Girls comes the first single off the album featuring two of the dopest cuts "Half A Dream" featuring Marty James of One Block Radius and on the b-side featuring fellow Procussions member Rez, and the Strange Fruit Project! Nas - Greatest Hits CD http://www.accesshiphop.com/store/14403 A collection of some of Nas' best work, chronicling tracks taken from his healthy 15 year career and still going stronger than ever. Featuring two previously unreleased tracks, "Surviving the Times" and "Less Than An Hour," featuring Cee-Lo as taken from the recent film "Rush Hour 3". Another great stocking stuffer if I might add... Johnny Blas - Indestructible Spirit CD http://www.accesshiphop.com/store/14552 Johnny Blas make a return to performing on saxophone alongside his trademark percussion playing. It's not the only change for the musician, Indestructible Spirit also features a new band including Jeff Hawley (bass, cuatro), Mike Bennet (drums), Ryan Prior (piano), Steve Johnson (trombone) and Leonard Luna (trombone). The album is also graced by several special guests Terry Delgado (coro), Isaac Guerrero (percussion), Paul Clark (tenor sax), and Raymond Sepeda (soprano sax). Funky Latin jazz and soul with a throwback to the 70's! Shawn Lee - Very Ping Pong Christmas CD http://www.accesshiphop.com/store/14547 The work this guy continues to put out never ceases to amaze me! After the release of Hits the Hits, Lee's unique interpretations of modern day chart-toppers, the Ping Pong Orchestra's conductor presents to us his take on some of the most well known Christmas classics from the past hundred or so years. This funky, tripped out collection of instrumentals and re-creations of familiar carols is one of a kind and definitely worth checking out. And of course if you were looking to make things interesting at your latest holiday bash this might just be the winning touch. Lifesavas - Gutterfly 12" http://www.accesshiphop.com/store/13318 Finally back in-stock after being tied up in months of re-orders! The lead single and album titled track featuring a comeback from Camp Lo! The flip side features Ish (formerly Butterfly of Digable Planets). Heat! Dr. Dre - Chronicles Deluxe CD+DVD http://www.accesshiphop.com/store/14410 Twelve tracks of the legendary Dr. Dre's greatest hits accompanied by ten videos on the dvd to the corresponding tracks! This deluxe collectors edition is part of the Death Row Classics series and is a must have for any fan! Need I remind that the holidays are coming just around the corner... Snoop Dogg - Greatest Hits Deluxe CD+DVD http://www.accesshiphop.com/store/14409 Also from the Death Row Classics series is the CD/DVD release of American icon and pop culture phenomenon, Snoop's greatest hits...with 16 tracks and 8 videos this makes a great collectors item and a perfect gift for fans everywhere. Quantic Soul Orchestra - Tropidelico CD http://www.accesshiphop.com/store/14520 Tropidelico is the fourth full length album from QSO and finds them fusing Latin, Soul, Cumbia (a Colombian style of music) and Hip Hop with a funk production ethic. This South American tropical music journey, draws influence from many different cultured and musical sounds from around the world, but the unmistakable Quantic sound is here with a new twist, taking their art to a new level. Supreme Team / J Dilla - See / Mash's Revenge 12" http://www.accesshiphop.com/store/14522 Madlib and Karriem Riggins are the latest super group offering from Stones Throw with the lead track "See(Suite)" off 2K8 Zombie B-ball! Flipside features MF Doom and Guilty Simpson on "Mash's Revenge" over an unused beat from the Late J-Dilla. DJ XXXL (DJ Muro) - Nippon Breaks & Beats v1 and v2 CD's http://www.accesshiphop.com/store/14407 http://www.accesshiphop.com/store/14423 Two funky collections of breaks and beats from the East...the Far East that is! A double dose of rare covers and originals, with familiar samples, popular Asian sound bytes and excerpts from tv, music and movies that have invaded American pop culture and hip hop over the years! Funky and addictive! Havoc (of Mobb Deep) - The Kush 2LP http://www.accesshiphop.com/store/13937 Now on vinyl! Nature Sounds present the long overdue solo debut from the Queensbridge MC-producer of Golden Era pioneers, Mobb Deep. Their presence in hip hop is still felt so many years later, even after making the decision to sign with G-Unit, and while Prodigy seems to have taken center stage these days, with The Kush, you will definitely be placing them on equal grounds, and it'll hopefully have you feeling that 90's Mobb Deep vibe all over again. Mac Lethal - 11:11 2LP/Make Out Bandit 12" http://www.accesshiphop.com/store/14120 http://www.accesshiphop.com/store/14378 Now on vinyl! Kanas City mc and Scribble Jam champ, Mac Lethal, gets his official Rhymesayers debut! An album that comes off a bit comical to get across its serious messages in his signature sarcastic tone. Fans of Sage Francis and Atmosphere will draw comparisons as he covers topics like alcohol, women, religion and thoughts on his native city. Features production from Seven, Lenny D and Lazerbeak. Also just in...the first single off the album featuring the tracks "Make Out Bandit" "Pound That Bear" and a special B-side bonus cut "Mallory Knox" with instrumentals for each! Sole & the Skyrider Band - Sole & the Skyrider Band 2LP http://www.accesshiphop.com/store/14132 Now in stock on vinyl! Sole's new album features Bud Berning, a dub drummer and electronic composer recording music under the name Skyrider, and two newly recruited band members, John Wagner, a drummer from Tennessee and multi-talented instrumentalist William Ryan Fritch. Hezekiah - I Predict A Riot 2LP http://www.accesshiphop.com/store/14375 Vinyl now available! Hezekiah's sophomore follow-up album to 2005's critically acclaimed debut "Hurry Up and Wait". On "I Predict A Riot the Philly based emcee/producer combines elements of traditional hip hop with neo soul to create an original album that is sure to make a lasting impression. Featuring Bilal of Soulquarians, vocalist Jaguar Wright, with jazz musicians Anthony Tidd, Tony Whitfield and more!
