Dog help.

So my Black lab, 7 years old, is having this "hacking"/Coughing" problem.

In the past Ive seen him eat grass, and eventually cough up a grass ball. I know they do this for their own good. (cleansing.)

Okay, so I went up to the mountains 3 days ago, and went fishing. I saw him eating grass while I was up their.....seemed fine...

next day, around 5 ish er so, he began doing the "hacking"....I had these 2 chicks over, and he started recking shop. Hacking A SHIT LOAD. The consistency of what he was hacking was Lugee style. All over the place. Totally ruining the mood. The bitches laughed while I walked around cleaning up the Lugee messes all over. One of the lugees had to have been enough to fill a 12 oz can. Raw shit.

But still no grass, or anything else.

Yesterday, same shit.....Hacking/coughing a grip. But now, he is getting a little bit raspy, and less and less Lugee material is coming out...

woke up this morning, same shit.

Some haggered shit. I feel bad.

Any of you have a clue on what I should do.....Ive just been hoping a Huge grass ball come flying out, but no luck.

Im about to take him to the vet, but I dont want to spend cash for them just to tell me, its a grass ball...And nothing can be done about it.

Any solutions/ideas/info?

thanks

What the fuck are you talking about? You mean www.accesshiphop.com/forums is not the best source for all your animal health needs?

if your dog is eating grass that means his diet is lacking certain minerals, you need to try a differnt dog food, seriously try an "all-natural" the one thing you dont want it to have is "chicken meal"- chicken by-products that upsets the stomach and to would lead to grass eating as well.......
e-mail me if you want a real detailed answer

Yea.

My budget has had me buying the Cheapo food the past few weeks.

I prolly will go buy some All Natural.

Arnt you supposed to look if the food has "fillers", and the Fillers are bad?

thats what I was told.

Do you think its just a grass ball tho, stacks? I know your not a vet, and prolly have no clue....The only thing that worries me is how LONG, he has been doing the hacking....not the hacking itself.

sounds bad

seak, your dog may die shortly.

that sounds like the same type of problem our 13 y.o. lab had before she passed recently.

she was hacking/vomitting uncontrolably and panting heavily. i guess she had been doing this for a few days and wasn't eating and finally died. i feel bad for her cuz i wasn't there and my mom and sister couldn't do anything to help her pain (she prolly was in pain from how they described her) at 3 in the morning, the day of her passing. and they had to bury her.

R.I.P. sadie lady.

i'm sad to say our little dog (14 y.o.) is prolly gonna go soon too. she acts senile and barks at nothing all the time and doesn't really eat much.

i'd recommend putting her down or taking her to the vet immediately. is she eating?

Ripleys ranch is a good all natural dog food.

no i dont think its a grass ball my dog molly recently went through the same type of thing ( i think it affects older dogs worst) she had kind of the same symtoms and we changed her diet right down to the dog treats and she acts so much healther and hardly ever tries to eat grass.........

............. i know that the "all-natural" dog food is more expencive and that sucks but its worth tring to make your dog feel better, as for fillers i dont know but our vet told us to look for dog food were you can pronunce all the ingredinace and you know what they are , make since right but its hard to do the major thing is the animal by-products its the left over parts that no one else wants and that is what could be making him sick so you want some thing like cooked chicken breast in there we found a few that have that........

my spelling is bad today
