Sw (and other metal fans)....

I just got put up on this band called Between the Buried and Me. I just bought the Silent Circus, which dropped two years ago. Have you heard of them? In that same DEP vein; not saying their carbon-copies, but that they're comparable. Same over-the-top creative metal-core (sorry), with tons of evil riffs, and mathy breakdowns. Only difference is they throw in some melody and CLEAN VOCALS when you least expect it. If you can get past the primary "cookie-monster" vocals (their musical base is death-metal, after all), I'd definitely recommend Silent Circus. The track Mordecai is worth the price of the CD as far as I'm concerned. They also got a new one coming out in September. I just can't picture a DEP fan not liking this. I think of it as DEP, mixed with Opeth (heavier but not as dramatic), and a dash of Slayer and Judas Priest thrown in.

I'm also digging the Converge re-masters. I honestly never had a complaint with how raw Petitioning the Empty Sky sounded, but When Forever Comes Crashing definitely needed the production facelift, and now both these classics have that added punch. Insane, sick, creative heavy hardcore that comprises the most original and influential rock of the last decade.
