decide on what acts that you want and approach them about it. if you just wait for volunteers itll be no different than your open mics. i know you got ideas about how you want your show to be, who you want on, etc. just make it happen.

^^People say the same thing about old school hip hop....but we all know thats not true. Horrorcore aint dead at all, its very alive, I just don't know many shows that host them around my area.

pokey is a promoter that puts on "the cypher" at the hot mokey love cafe. i suggest you get involved in the sd hiphop scene before you add to it. youll get a good idea of what the vibe is like and what you can add to it.

on another note, horrocore is that sadistic shit right?

because there is NO interest in it. i don't know, maybe you'll find a small niche of goth, angst-ridden teenagers in mira mesa to jock your shit.

it doesn't sound like you've even followed the SD scene at all. are you a transplant? it might be a good idea to go to some local shows to get a feel for the san diego market and what types of hiphop draws crowds. promoters will want for you to be able to have a certain audience 'pull' and if you're not cuttin' it then you'll get the boot.

i'm not trying to discourage you, just tryin' to let you know that you're up against a lot more popular artists who perform good-vibe hiphop.

i would def. suggest focusing on all ages shows because mostly only the younger crowd is into that horrocore shit.

...

Hit up shows and start networking with people. I mean coming on here is a step in the right direction but alot of people dont really get up and frequent the boards. But yeah I would just try and attend all the shows and get the overall vibe of San Diego. Sounds like your a bit younger so Im sure you all gung hoe about doing something but definitely do some research and try and cater to more then just one group. Your draw will be better and the people that come will enjoy it alot better. San Diego is definitely a hard market to be successful in definitely gotta do your research....
peace
