Toronto Indie Rapper Prolific Launches Cutting Musical Response to the Social and Political Realities of 2012

In a world where critical thought is often dismissed as fringe, Prolific's new single "Sham" delivers unapologetic truth that can permeate even the ears of pop audiences. "Sham" draws from pop influences but contextually distances itself from the mainstream. Provocative and politically relevant, Prolific continues to re-invent his introspective art and push the limits of hip hop.

Prolific's musical career has travelled lyrically, sonically and geographically. After a full-length release out of Montreal he is now working to add a new album to the thriving hip hop scene in Toronto. Working with genre-merging producer James Pew at Euphonic Sound, the new album is shaping up to be Prolific's most exciting work to date. "Sham" re-affirms Prolific's hip hop roots while lending to new artistic directions. Lyrically both contemplative and critical; the song creates an inner dialogue for his listeners that questions norms. "Sham" can be likened to work by El-P and Trent Reznor, but distinguishes itself as purely Prolific.
