"For too long, Los Angeles hip hop has been seen as one dimensional 'gangsta rap.' With this new series, we're giving our city's hip hop artists an amazing platform to show not only our community, but the world, that we have so much more to offer." – Murs

Through the Mic is a new concert series at LACMA that explores contemporary Los Angeles hip hop, with an emphasis on the diversity of L.A.-based artists. Co-curated by LACMA and hip hop artist Murs, concerts will take place in front of artist Chris Burden's iconic Urban Light sculpture on the third Thursday of every month, May through October 2012.

To kick off the series Through the Mic, 3MG reunites for their first performance together in more than five years. 3MG’s Murs, Eligh, and Scarub met as students at Los Angeles’s Hamilton High and released Gypsy’s Luck before joining forces with The Mystik Journeymen and The Grouch to form The Living Legends. 3MG went back to the studio in 2005 to record Grand Caravan to the End of the World and have since been on hiatus to work on solo projects. The local trio returns to the stage less than four miles from where it all began.

I was going to post this last night but was to tired. This is crazy I been waiting for a 3mg show thought I would never see them especially since when ever they perform a 3mg song murs never does his verse like at the paid dues that just past he didn't do his for the 2010 song. Hopefully this can lead to a new album. If 3mg is the first show can't imagine who the other artist will be.

Did any else see that the legends show in San Diego is going to be the last legends show ever.

I attended, It was good! Being at LACMA watching a hip hop show was dope.
Sadly it wasn't to much of a 3mg show. They only did 3 3mg songs together and each of them did solo sets. All three solo sets were dope, just would have liked to see a few more 3mg songs with them all on stage at the same time.
The three 3mg songs they played were "Halo" "2010" & "Sunsparyed".
Wished they also played "Color Blue", "Nauticus" , & "Chant" and any/all tracks from "Gypy's Luck".
I will try to post some vids later.

yeah, i figured they'd end up doing mostly solo sets.

yo, did murs at least do his verse off 2010? everytime they play that live and Murs is there, he doesn't rap his verse.
