You're making my day by asking that. That's Leland Jones from Insult2Injury. We formed i2i in 1996. We've been on the downlow with our shit for a lonnnng time due to a lot of crazy reasons, but not for much longer. We have a song on each of the Missile Targets and a limited edition 12" single that I sold on tour in 2004, but they're just some rushed demos. The real deal shit is coming soon.

Thanks again. I don't know if it's that it's on an early 90's steez as much as a lot of stuff now is a little heavy on being some computerized and/or shallow 2010 steez. There's lots of ways to skin a cat, but we just think music sounds really good with samples and drum breaks (chopped/layered or not) through hardware samplers (like mpc60's and asr-10's for example) and with some good scratching from time to time. I kinda figure that's part of the tradition that we're a continuation of, but people should just dig on what they like, regardless. I don't like being snobby about it. I just know how I want to do myyy shit. There's other ways to do it that can sound great (and lord knows it's easier and cheaper to do it all on your laptop), but I'm really partial to throwing some dirt on there and doing it how it was done at that time for the most part. That being said, it's really important to be original and not just be a watered down version of some shit that happened 15 years ago.
That's my two cents. I could drop $100 worth of yakkety-yak about that subject, but I've gotta get back to work on a beat! I'll definitely let cats know when our shit is about to drop. We've got an instrumental project (a totally weird instrumental project..trip out, man) called Silverware Parachute that we're gonna release pretty soon and then we'll get down to business on some Insult2Injury shit.
