i was wondering out of all the deceased emcees of our time. who would be killin shit if they were alive. i mean you got 2pac, big L, biggie, big pun, eazy-e, among alot of others. could you imagine them over some of the producers out right now?
2pac/kanye west
biggie/neptunes
big pun/just blaze
big L//9th wonder

or vice versa. c'mon with the c'mon and give me some interesting scenarios and collabs in a fantasy lp for one of these cats, if not all.

he was a hype man. sort of a flava flav, not really a lyricist in a sense. but who knows by now he would've made something crack right? on the subject though who would've collabed or made hits right now?

i think 2pac would still be at or near the top of the game, if he hadn't pursued acting or other interests. biggie would be at the level jay-z is at now, while jay-z would probably be at the level nas is at. pun would also be up there, tho we probably would have had to see more fat joe in the process. i'd like to think big l would have had a pretty good career going on too. ja rule would have had no career to speak of if the pac was alive, and em and 50 wouldn't be at the level they are now either in my opinion.
oh, and charizma would have a huge underground following.

It would've been nice to see Big L work with RZA. I think that could 've worked pretty well.

I think Eazy would have come out with his own production once musical maturity would set in.

With the demographic the way it is now. I'd say Pac and Big Pun would be sitting on top.

Based strictly on wordplay, Pun was the illest anyway.....

I agree w/j-free in him saying that 50 cent and JaRule would not be where they are today if Pac was around. I highly doubt he'd be having any of that shit.

I picked Pac because I felt he would have eventually won an Oscar for his acting and Makaveli is one of my fav PAc albums so I feel he was just getting more hungry towards the end.

Tupac was too damn good not to be the best in that group but my fave would have been Big L.

Could you imagine Pac and Murs on the same track? Fuckin nuts.

I agree but if Big L would have signed to The ROC like he was planning it might have been the worst decision he could have made. Unless he would have brought DITC with him.

It cracks me up how you can't say a bad word about BIG or Tupac now without fools getting their panties in a bunch. When they were alive they were pretty much the equivalent of J Kwon. They're definitely more talented than that dude and a lot of the crap rappers out today, but for all the people that complain about pop radio rap and the direction hip hop has gone in, who the hell do you think took it there?

Certainly not Pac. Maybe Pun and Biggie.

I would have to place that blame on Jay-Z though, and i like Jay-Z, and i think even he regrets the direction he took it, but fools didn't respect him before he switched up the content. Pac's subject matter was always consistant.

I'd rather here glorified violence, than fake money talk on the radio anyday of the week.

What about Mr. Cee, Cougnut, and Hitman?

Or Ant Diddley Dog? Or was it Rappin' Ron? Man, they might as well be both dead, they haven't come out with shit in about ten years.

Certainly not Pac.

Then how come so many of the pop rappers come off as obvious biters of him? The revisionist history surounding Pac is ridiculous. Other than his work ethic and shooting those off-duty cops in Atlanta, there was nothing admirable about him. All he did was talk a TON of shit. Then after he got what was coming to him, all anybody seems to wanna talk about is Brenda's Got A Baby and his books of poetry. That fool initiated a lot of violence and negativity for the sole purpose of fattening his own pockets. I don't know of too many "poets" or "revolutionaries" that make a habit of wearing more gold around their necks than Mr. T.

I was never a fan of BIG, but at least he was just doin his thing and not frontin.

*Oh yeah, I think Jay Z kinda just got sucked into the void left by those two dudes. Wrong man in the right place at the right time...

I'm not even a big Pac fan, at all.... I was mainly listening to shit from the East when he was doing his thing. I was a Big fan. I'm just saying that i think Hip Hop would have takin' this turn regardless of Pac.... maybe not Ja Rule, 50 Cent and DMX being large or whatever... those are really the only famous Pac biters, but still. The south wouldv'e still gotten big, etc... The Neptunes, Lil Jon, and everyone esle doin it right now didn't exactly ride the coatails of Pac or Biggie.

But then, you pretty much negated my whole statement with fact right here:

The G-Unit is just a rerun of the Outlawz.
