I'm not realy a nerd, except for my computer habbit, but I do like the Blah blah blah...

Buck 65 and those guys started off cool but they just took it too far.

I still like Buck a lot though, he's one entertaining motherfucker at times.

I like music to much to only limit myself to one style. Simple

the beasties helped build the foundation of hip hop that most garbage rappers today are bringin down. but the majority of dope rappers out there were strongly influenced by the beastie boys. arists from souls of mischief to e-40 to the legends to cypress hill to de la soul to pharcyde to eminem to tribe to busta to ... shall i continue? you get the point. if anyone denies that they've been a crucial element to the evolution and strength of hip hop, they do not know hip hop, or else they're smokin crack.

saying the beastie boys suck at hip hop is like saying edgar allan poe sucks at writing. just isn't true.

instead of saying they suck, say I DON'T LIKE THEM.

because we ALL know they don't suck.

i can respect the beastie boys accomplishments and what they did (bring a wider audience to the artform) but they are boring and annoying as hell. and to put them in the same category as other rappers who have made their mark on the artform solely based on their talent is not fair. being white was the gimmick that got them started. they were the first frat rappers ever.

i don't think frat boys (or many white kids outside of ny for that matter) were bumping much resembling hip hop before the beasties came out. much less going to hip hop shows. just watch the video/ listen to fight for your right. frat house banger.

PE and the beastie boys have also shared the stage numerous other times. both groups have immeasurable talent and inexplicable creativity, and both have done a helluva lot for hip hop. they are both legends. if you can't accept that your whole perspective is wack. do your homework. and if you're too young to remember the days when hip hop had no radio airplay, you dont have the right to speak on this.

whats wrong with rock?
you got a problem with jimmi hendrix?
how bout pink floid?
or is it the stones that you got issues with?
i don't get it.
hip hop is a fusion of infinite musical genres, one of which could be considered to be rock and roll. maybe mos def could educate you more thoroughly on this issue. til then, you'll just have to live with the facts. HIP HOP IS ROCK. HIP HOP IS FUNK. HIP HOP IS SOUL. HIP HOP IS JAZZ. HIP HOP IS RHYTHM. HIP HOP IS BLUES. HIP HOP IS REGGAE. HIP HOP IS JUNGLE. HIP HOP IS THE WORLD. THE BEASTIE BOYS ARE HIP HOP. HIP HOP MINUS THE BEASTIE BOYS DOES NOT EQUAL HIP HOP AS WE KNOW IT. HIP HOP MINUS THE BEASTIE BOYS WOULD BE SOME WACK ASS SHIT.
