As much as I dig both of these artists they just don't seem to mesh right in my opinion... I think MURS is much better over a hard hitting west coast beats. I personally would rather see MURS do a whole album with Thes One or DJ Khalil.

I am still going to pick this up since MURS is my FAv. LL member..

Does anyone else have an opinion on this??

I have no doubt Murs would mesh nicely with 9th. My concern lies with 9th supplying Murs with 'spare/left-over' beats and not the classic shit he laces Little Brother with. I always worry about dope producers spreading themselves thin.

No more worries from me. These guys suck shit at reviewing indie-rock (which is supposed to be their forte) but are on-hit with rap albums.

Murs
Murs 3:16 - The 9th Edition
[Def Jux; 2004]
Rating: 8.1

In the quest for independent success, gaining your 20,000 sales is attributed to a solid live show and an accessible persona. For an artist like Murs, the underground rap landscape is slightly more difficult to traverse. With a rhyme style that merges both early 90s West Coast tangents (his work invokes both Tupac and Souls of Mischief), Murs seems to get lost in the fold, especially while trying to find his musical identity with progressive rap imprint Definitive Jux. But by taking up a harder edge and striking a deal with one of the hottest producers to come out of the underground in 9th Wonder, Murs may have finally found his formula to success with the unfortunately titled Murs 3:16 - The 9th Edition.

I am not doubting it will be tight I am just saying that there are better options for MURS to do a collab album with... this Kweli RJD2 collab is better structured then MURS and 9th

Does anyone know who provided Murs' production on Rules the World? That cd has some damn good beats that I thught fit Murs' style perfectly.
