Damn, it looks like Sandbox (who I said I'd never order from again!) has a bunch of new stuff to pre-order. I shouldn't be buying anything right now cos I need to be saving my money...but here's what's tempting me:

GM Grimm - Digital Tears
Rodan - Theophany
MF Doom - Special Blends 1 & 2 (will this be worth buying?)
KMD - Best of... w/ free T-Shirt (wouldn't consider if not for the shirt)
Jean Grae - Bootleg (looks like a lot of repeat material?)
Air - Walkie Talkie (won't order, but semi-interested - heard a song on the radio and wasn't impressed)

If I do order I'd get the first two - what would you choose for a 3rd album?

Good call... I think I'm a wait a few months for the Grimm vinyl to come out, wasn't feelin the 12" enough to cop both formats. That Rodan should be off the hook though. I was thinking the exact same thing today about the KMD "Best of..." CD. I have all the tracks, but I'm sure I'd play the CD and it's probably worth it for the shirt alone. It's a smarter buy than an instrumental CD imo...

Yeah, I don't know why non-DJs are so hyped on instrumentals. I gotta say they're pretty boring because they're made to have lyrics on them...and without the lyrics you can really hear that something is missing.
Were you referring to the "Special Blends" as an instrumental CD? It was my understanding that it's a remix CD...other musicians songs remixed (with lyrics) by Doom. Am I wrong here?

Nope my bad, you're right.

I might have to pick that up... I was a little disappointed with Nastradoomus though.

dont forget about that new prefuse73 (savath & savalas) hes fuckin w/ latin music now, this dude is so diverse, how he mixes his own sounds with different genre's(?) of music in an obscure kinda way, no two albums sound alike. i have everything he has ever done, even that cd single he did w/ daedelus

From Doom's site:
"Sup everybody - if you haven't placed your pre-order for Viktor Vaughn's "Vaudeville Villian" at HipHopSite.Com yet, now would be a good time because Nastradoomus has dropped on double vinyl!! This experimental project pitted the acapellas from Nas' "Nastradamus" with the beats from Doom's "Special Herbs" series of instrumental albums."

nastradoomus actually wasnt that bad imo...

i few of the beats didnt go at all with the lyrics or flow of nas but overall i liked it.

i saw some of these on the hiphopsite pre-orders too, incase u dont want to wait for the sandbox orders to come through. i've had bad luck w/ sandbox, they take way too long to send orders & i've had more messed up orders with them. with hiphopsite i had fewer probs but they tend to get the job done. at least with hiphopsite i get my orders in a week if not in a few days....
