I hear you actually. but at the same time, I don't think it's always the one or the other. Like I prefer 'natural' women: you don't need to wear make up (but please shave the appropriate parts, like upper lip, etc). you actually don't need to wear skin tight clothes. to me there's something like natural beauty, along with something I like to call 'standard beauty' or barbie beauty. I'm not going to front. if some chick, that has a nice body, strolls along, she can get my attention, like anything that's flashing in my face.
at the same time however, she'll be interesting as long as I'm excited, or as long as I try to prove to myself, that I can excite someone like her. but there's no beauty that can make a conversation interesting. there's no beauty in a mask, as it does not make the one underneath it beautiful (so chill on that war paint ladies).
I think it's somewhat a waste of time to argue against beauty standards, because that's what excites us. and we are excited by what's rare. often what we don't have, or what would be hard to get. and we are often ascribing beautiful persons with other attribues we like, like intelligence, what only makes them futher admirable.
however, you can't really let this get to you. first of all, there's nothing you can really change about it, and I refuse to let things get to me that I can't change (like my standard unimpressive looks).
I myself will certainly get excited by beauty. but I'm easily bored and my excitement quickly wears off. as with someone interesting (who can quote the LL for example), I think I'll have more in common that will create excitement.
thus as harsh as it sounds: maybe I'll only ask you second to go out with me for a cup of tea. but I'll ask YOU for a second time to go out with me for a cup of tea.
(( okay, faaar too long, faaaar toooooo loooonggg this post))

a woman that doesn't have to show off her beauty is the ticket you gotta have a personality and confidence but stuck up and flaunting your shit cause on the real that shit is disgusting

so i'm replying to myself out of pure boredom

the way things are here in LA it's like i go to shows w/ my boys and guys start looking at me like i don't belong there ( i know it's unusual to see girls at hip hop shows) but even though all i ever wear is Jeans and hoodie, i still get skinny guys sayen, yo i'm 2mex...like wtf?? so when i'm singing along to all the songs they're just like intimidated because they let their ego run wild...i have no faith in meeting someone at a show, but maybe if they're not intimidated by my friends who are all guys i might just find Mr. Right..who knows, but i know where yer coming from girl..it's a universal problem.

I think the most important aspect of woman is being open - minded. Everything else is decoration. And don't get me wrong, decoration is definitely key towards creating a magnetic something something between people, but for any relationship to have substance, the open mind is key. For example, I knew it was true love with girly when she let me take her to my fave spot in my pickup. Not to be too randy, but the blissful evening included jumper cables, a rusty spoon, a coat hanger, and a dog with three legs. I have to stop because I am making myself hot.

seriously, why do a lot of guys assume that girls at shows arent really into hip hop? if i was a guy standing in a room thats practically 95% sweaty guys, i would think it would be cool to see some chicks that are into it too. i dont know about the guys that think just because there are girls there that they can just say and do whatever the hell they want. i dont know how many times i have to hear "daaamn shorty" before i can find someone to have actual conversation with. well anyways i guess what im sayin is that i totally agree with you gals, but we're bound to eventually find some nice guys =)

02-12-2003, 01:29 PM
hahahahahahaha i should have seen that one coming
02-12-2003, 01:31 PM
see i have no idea where ya'all are coming from i can't find a girl that can hold a conversation with me
02-12-2003, 01:42 PM
is that why you reply to you own posts? lol j/k well unless you are really really smart like a rocket scientist or something i dont think it would be that hard to find a chick to have conversation w/, especially at shows cuz girls stick out like sore thumbs and chances are you have at least a few things in common with them. i'm not trying to talk shit about your mackin style or anything cuz i know i would never be able go up to a guy, but what kind of chicks do u approach? maybe u are just pickin the wrong ones
02-12-2003, 01:45 PM
see thats the problem i don't approach women i let them approach me but then i got tired of hoodrats so i'm kinda confused on how to approach a lady compared to a ho i'm not a genius but i'm one of those people who always get their mentals underestimated by others so i usually don't meet very smart women maybe i should try
02-12-2003, 01:48 PM
besides i can always hold a conversation with myself
damn. maybe i should start goin to shows again..these current underground boys sure don't sound like they know how to converse with their female counterparts.. but then again, if i walked up to a lady lady talking like this, i'd probably get laughed at too.
Yeah, no doubt. Whats up with all the neglected females at shows? I never knew, i always that that most of them couldn't be bothered. If i were single, i'd pursue this.
02-12-2003, 04:04 PM
you know what though? i' have friends who are into other scenes in the underground and at punk shows i can have an actually conversation w/ a green haired mohawk punk who knows about all my favorite charles bukowski books...at a mod show i can talk to some mod guy about the whole mod vs. skin heads deal...they're like the furthest thing from what i would think i would attract seeing as how i'm don't wear crazy make up, fishnets or dress anything like a chick out of the 60's...maybe it's just the guys at hip hop shows who just don't have any game j/k...and yeah guys at hip hop shows are so freaken rude, i was at an atmosphere show alone because it was a thursday and my friends had to be at school at 8 am the next day..well since i don't have a first or second i was like too bad for u i'm going...this guy just put his hands on my waist and i turned around like wtf?! and cussed him out this girl who was there w/ her boyfriend and some of his homies was like, "there u are!" and was really nice to me, she told me to stay there w/ her n her homies because most guys that night were all assholes...even slug noticed my going off on this dude and said, "just because there are girls here doesn't mean you can all act like fucking savages!" i might have hit it off w/ one of the her friends but he was like wayy too into drugs and i'm straight edge.
02-12-2003, 06:03 PM
I like chicks who aren't all about being something they're not. It's too much being with a girl who is fake and as a result they have a low-self esteem but yet act stuck up. I can't stand partydrunks either, just cause they are annoying and can't converse uness they are drunk. I just want a chick who knows who she is and is down for even just kicking back at times, not just doing shit all the time.
02-12-2003, 07:39 PM
BEAUTIFUL KAILUA............well actually aikahi
02-12-2003, 08:55 PM
see iwould have approached this one guy who was all looking at me and i thought he was really cute..BUT i fugured, if he doesn't have the balls to come talk to me then why should i bother? noe what i mean?..i'm not saying this is what the deal was w/ you, i'm just curious what you think? should i just have gone for it?...i've never made the first move so i'm not used o that idea...how would most of you guys have felt about a girl making the move?peace.
02-12-2003, 09:11 PM
good ? dharna, i never go up to guys cuz it seems like they would have the mentality of "this chick wants me" do u guys think that?
02-12-2003, 09:16 PM
yeah that's what i'm worried about...guys?
02-13-2003, 03:20 PM
I know that I would like it if some chick came up to me, it would be way tight...I usually have to approach them first though, but I feel all lame when I do, even if she likes me.
02-13-2003, 11:40 PM
To answer the question on the mind of the women, I don't think to many guys would get all egotistical about having a female approach them, maybe a bit flattered, nervous or even appaled. I don't see why the guy must always be the predator. Believe it or not a lot of men are shy, it's not about having the balls, its just an insecurity for most. Ah, hell...I think I leaked too much info. In conclusion I believe if your feeling the person and think that there might be some sort of chemistry, then make the move. Man or Woman.

I think I fit in that category....when it comes to going up to girls and talking to them, I'm a pussy.
this thread is getting too long.. but my 2 cents-- i prefer the 'plain jane' type girls over the girls that dress sexy in public. if yer a guy or girl just tryin to hook up with someone w/o anything serious, then a club, bar, etc is the right place. but don't expect shit. it will never last. i usually hook up with girls at school or work and go for the 'plain jane' girls. cus they tend to be less fake and keep it real. the girls that dress hella sexy are usually teases and won't even let you get at them behind close doors. they jus want the attention. besides, usually the 'plain jane' type girls are the more freakiest. the girls that are hella smart in class that you think are just all about school. but if you talk to them outside of class, their personality is actually way cooler. i dunno. i'm just babblin. but if i just want to have fun, i'll get at the girls that dress hella sex and if i get dissed, its like whatever. but the 'plain jane' girls are much better. . . depending on what you want.
plain jane > sexy girls

so im gonna respond too. as a female at shows, there is no love from the males. they are either staring, or rude. they dont say, wassup or nothing. a couple times ive had guys come up to me and buy me a drink, but that was about it. thats cool, but guys need to feel free to come make the females feel more welcomed. not by grabbing our asses, im sure the other females on this board feel me on that one. but really there are girls at the shows that are dressed like for going to a club, with the titties out and high heels on, thats kinda funny to me. you do question their motives when they dress like that. but who knows, you cant judge a book by its cover, thats for damn sure.
also back to the "neglected" message. im always feeling that song, it one of my fav LL songs. but i dont know what guys think. i live with a guy and he says strait up, "i like skinny hot chicks with big boobs, yea their dumb, but who cares i just want to fuck them for 2 weeks and im over it" so hearing that all the time, ive kinda been like, fuck it, im not even gonna try to find a guy anymore if thats what they are really thinking, he could come find me if hes for real. that all i want someone for real, not perpin. but from reading these messages, that sounds like what alot of guys want to, just a real chick. i think with guys its like a 50/50 chance. they are either gonna be tight, or gonna be dicks.
02-14-2003, 07:24 PM
ohh i mentioned the waist part because that was the dick i caught...i've had guys grab my ass, i get so mad it kills a good show you noe? fucking a!
it's so frustrating! i know guys are like that by the most part (like your roomie) because my friends tell me straight out...but then some of my boys have found their better half and are really happy, but like i said i have no hopes of finding a guy at a show...but thanks to the guys who replied..if i'm feelin any vibes..i'll make a move...maybe..most likely.
well.. most guys just want to fuck with no strings attached if yer below age 23 or around that age. the reason is because we're young. there is no reason to settle down until we're older. we're in our prime. we're young and just want to have fun. a wise person once sed, "might as well have sex with a lot of girls yer age now, cus when yer 40, you'll be paying for that shit." lol anyways, we aren't gonna get serious until later on in life.
i'll keep it real. personally, during the semester, i just want to have fun. no strings attached with a girl. i'm too busy with school. i don't want to fall in love or hook up with no one. it'll just distract me from school. so i'm not gonna try and look to get hooked up with a girl. but if a dope ass girl tries to get at me, i ain't gonna deny her. i'm just saying i ain't gonna try.
anyways, girls mature faster then guys. they want a guy who is straight up, honest, mature, etc. but most guys aren't like that in their early 20's or below. if yer trying to hook up with a guy at a concert, club, bar, etc. that shit ain't gonna work. no guys wants to find their true love there. anyways, most ppl hook up with someone when they least expect it. when i go clubbin or go to a show, i just want to have fun. anyways, i'm just babblin. it would be dope though to meet one of you girls at a concert =)
i wonder what amanda, archer, dharna, or any other girls on this board look like. its all good.
