It was cool. Went out a few nights but marination was pretty much the theme all week. Watched a good game, caught some rays (hopefully thats the only thing I caught), just chilled. The area seems a lot more run down since my last visit, not as much green. I'm just glad to be back home on mainland soil.

No doubt. Next time you go, try to avoid the Japanese run, tourist infested, run down, city that is Honolulu. Hit up Maui or something.

Good to hear you enjoyed your stay.

but Maui is also a big tourist hot spot, just like Oahu. To enjoy natural beauty without all the commercialization, my suggestion is to visit the Big Island (not Waikaloa or Kona, but Hilo, Kapoho, and Waimea). Yeah, there isn't much nightlife/shopping/blah blah but there is so much beauty to appreciate, activities to do without all the tourists. Also more suitable for a crowd who isn't looking to party hard. The Big Island isn't "run down" at all.

Oahu isn't run down either, i just don't enjoy the city of Honolulu. If i had to live in a big city in Hawaii it would either be Kahului or Lahaina... Somewhere on Maui. Or Lihue

But i agree, the Big Island is beatiful. My uncle lives in west Hilo, actually Keaukaha, same difference though.

But for me, nothing beats Kauai.....the Kapaa area..... Kawaihau... Moa road...... thats home.
