She's got a new solo project about to drop.
Peep It. (http://www.sohh.com/thewire/read.php?contentID=4254&highlight=ladybug)
And yes. She looks kind of good.
I just listened to the samples.. from what i've heard so far.. the tracks are cool, but they're all recognizable samples and reworkings of 70's/80's and current dance hits and they only play the chorus with her singing. there's one that sounds exactly like the theme from Grease by Frankie Valle, there's a song that sounds exactly like Sweet Dreams by the Eurythmics, and there's one that's like an INXS song "I've got to let you know".. except it's "You've got to change your flow". There's a Jimi "Voodoo Child" beat. A Hall & Oates "Say no go" song. RES's "Golden Boys" beat. a Portishead beat. and a No Doubt "Hey Baby" beat. There was one song that sounded totally original. .. check it out at www.ladybugmecca.com (ladybugmecca.com). i'm still curious as to how the whole thing sounds.

Eek... that sounds a little toy....hmm.... i'll have to hear it for myself. Ladybug is one of the best female MC's ever though, i wonder how she comes off on her verses.

I always that the DP's would've done better if they had waited a few years to drop their isht. I don't think the world was ready for that funky-jazzy-hipness DP had to offer. Oh well, I'm still going to check out Ladybug's solo style.

Yup i'll be peepin' it as well. Blowout Comb just stays in rotation. That shit goes down as some of the greatest HipHop ever released.
I love Digable.

Dr. Octagon and Blowout Comb were the albums that really got me into hiphop. I remember my friend gave me the Blowout Comb tape and I listened to it all the time even I'd go to bed!

I don't remember cuz my 2 copies of Dummy were borrowed but never returned.. it's the one with the spooky "oohwooo.." like ghosts singing.. i don't know.. don't they all sound like that though? the site's kinda janky tho.. you have to keep the cursor on the song bubble for it to continue playing.

Digables were my fuckin soundtrack back in the day... good f*ckin memories, and classic hiphop. I dunno about the sound of Ladybugs new ish, but Digables to me, especially "reachin" and "blowout" as well are so nastolgic, that I'll definitely be up on her new shit when it drops. I think Butterfly was a dope lyricist... wish they would come again.
peace all
