View Full Version : Yo Kris. How about those Cardinals?
Wow......
Yeah yeah.... Denver sucked it up, ONLY because they were playing 3rd string personel the whole game. That game meant nada. But now we have to play Indy in the first round IN Indy......that sucks much.
But anyway.... the Vikings losing 7 of their last 10 is pretty pathetic.
So, now that it's the postseason.... who do you think will be the NFC and AFC champs?

Guess I was way off...
Imma stick with Indy, especially since they got Denver this week. If Indy and Tennessee move on, hopefully the matchups work out so that Tennesse plays NE, I think they have the better chance of beating them. Indy can take out KC as well as Tennessee.
Fuck the NFC bracket, but I hope Dallas upsets throughout.

San Diego gets to pick first while Oakland picks second.
I can't see SD passing on young Manning. Brees' career is off to a pretty slow start and they aren't too impressed with him. Plus, they've already passed on both elder Manning and Mike Vick, they can't let another potential NFL MVP slip thru their grasp.
I hope we trade our pick for a gang of others, but if Eli is there, we gotta take dude.. who our starting QB in 2004 will be isn't exactly etched in stone.

God, did you hear the commentator during the game?? I've heard of peeps ears ringing when they're being talked about but LT must've had jock-itch yesterday. New guy was all over it. Not one segment went by where dude wasn't stroking LT.
I got nothing against LaDanian, I just thought it was funny how dude was riding so hard.

Would you be willing to take a flyer on the Rothsliberger (sp) kid from Miami (OH)? He's getting hype as the 2nd best QB in the country. I've always liked Philip Rivers, but evidently he's too high at #2. For now I'm with you: Eli or trade for multiples if he's gone by #2. Do we have any remaining Tampa Bay picks from letting Gruden go? One would sure come in handy...

I really can't comment, I haven't seen either one of them play. I don't follow college football as much as I should.

We have their second-rounder this year then that's it. On paper, we've got the worst of that trade so far. Shit has come back to bite us in the ass, most notably having both teams advance to last year's Superbowl and receiving the worst possible draft picks in the first round. At least they didn't win much this season, but I wish we had their first rounder this year instead of last.

chargers oughta take the best reciever in the draft. they cant take manning cuz brees is still young and developing. i WISH theyd take manning but i been watchin the chargers my whole life and theyll stick with brees. hes come through a few times showing his potential so they wanna see what he can do next year. theyre not just gonna cut him for a rookie and start all over. chargers dont make wise choices (2nd overall pick ryan leaf) and theyre too conservative. their defense is full of youngsters. if jammer develops soon, he could be like charles woodson or champ bailey. they need a tight end, a dope receiver to compliment boston (cuz right now, hes their only big playmaker), or maybe someone dope for their OL (possible 2nd rounder).

Theisman at least has some valid takes, Maguire is just a waste of breathing air. Dude was a former punter and he doesn't even break down the game. Theisman can at least break down the anatomy of a blitz-pickup, Maguire can't even review and instant replay without sounding comepletely retarded.

I was going apeshit monday night. It was to be expected but they took it to a whole 'nother level.
How many people actually cared about Favre Sr.'s health prior to last week?? Al Michaels, the NFL and ABC didn't. I'd be pissed if they were exposing my dad's good name to better their network and it's ratings. It got old quick, but the shit that got me heated was the home video footage. WTF?? Okay, dude's dad died.. we get it. Now ESPN is almost crediting Green Bay's playoff hopes to the ghost of Favre. I can only imagine what they might say if GB wins it all.

I think Al is becoming a victim of senility- he couldn't even follow Joe's uh, "jokes", for lack of a better word. Joe has always showed respect to the Raiders so he's OK in my book. He'll even joke about breaking his leg every now and again which is cool...
Perfect summary of the Raiders season- they lose to the Chargers and still don't get the #1 pick. Unless they have a deal they can't refuse on the table AND somebody they really like slotted a few picks below, I don't like the strategy of trading down, and it's seemed to me that Mr. Davis doesn't like it either. It's the coward's way out. Plus it's not like we couldn't use one of those recievers that are projected to go top 5.
The only team left I don't absolutely hate with a passion in the AFC is Indy, so I'm rooting for them. I'd love to see Tony Dungy win it- he's a great person, great coach, and got dicked over by Tampa Bay. In the NFC, go Cowboys.
Now when is the axe gonna fall on Callahan's neck? Sooner the better...

It's official, dude is gone.. good riddance.
Homeboy had his office cleared out before he even left for San Diego, anticipating his departure... he got his wish.
I would like to see either Shell, Cowher (if available) or Dennis Green step in and get the squad back to respectability.

Art had his chance. When he was our coach we'd always be up for the big games, but we'd often choke against teams we should've beaten.
Hopefully Cowher will be fired, because he's definitely my first choice. Mr. Davis has always been a big Dennis Green fan, and that would be a good choice too. Another coach who is rumored to be getting the boot is Butch Davis, and Al has come close to hiring him a few times already so he's a possibility too.
The last thing I heard was that Mr. Davis is probably gonna go for a Parcells protege. They're friends, and that might be a good move. I'd like to see us hire a defensive-minded coach. There's gonna be so much change in personnel on the offensive side of the ball the next few seasons that the best thing there would be to install a simple scheme to protect the ball, develop our young talent, and establish some consistency while we retool the o-line and find a new qb. A lot of work needs to be done on defense, and solidifying the d would be the quickest way back to becoming an elite team again. We could have a killer d a lot sooner than we'll have a dominant offense again.

I agree. A defensive-minded coach may be our best bet, but that would mean we would need one hell of an offensive coordinator to pick up the slack on offense. This might be hard to accomplish, the big offensive names that are going to be available are going to be looking for a head coach position. There aren't any more up and coming Bill Walsh proteges laying around either, Gruden was the last.
I also feel we're going to need a coach that is passionate about special teams play, it's often overlooked. Bill Bellichek (sp?) has done a great job with his team in that respect.
I think Denny Green would be the wisest choice, but I want a coach that can kick some ass like Cowher.. somebody that can light a fire under players' asses at halftime.
I wonder if Butch Davis would be willing to be demoted back to defensive coordinator.

Hooooooly shit... I didn't peep that link yesterday, but my boy called me last night and read that whole story to me over the phone. That's unbelievable. Seriously, if that was anybody other than Timmy I wouldn't believe it. I'm still in total shock.
It almost doesn't make any sense; why wouldn't the players be more vocal about it during the season? How could Mr. Davis not see it? Why would Callahan sabotage his own career along with the team's season simply out of spite?
I bet this isn't the last we hear on the subject. I wonder if we're gonna hear of him doing it as a favor for somebody else or another team (Gruden?). But man... that bitch better not step foot in California again. His punk ass will get handled like that Colombian soccer player.
