Ok. i saw the show last night. first i'll say that it was NOT a hiphop show, the crowd and vibe were like no hiphop show i've been too. Beats were fresh, i really liked some of the beats. i thought it was good mainly because it was so different and unique. the bad side was the, well the guy thought he was a comedian and he's not. I think i have a better understanding of what you guys are calling Nerd Rap. i wouldn't buy any of his shit but like 3 songs out of almost 3 hours were dope, like i'd bump that shit but the rest were just not in my tatse...

Buck 65 is probably one of my favorite hip hop artists and you're making me hate him.

You're not going to change anyone's mind here...you're not giving them good reasons to pick up a Buck 65 record.

Buck 65 fans are, as Micah Nine would put it, word nerds. We pay attention to detail.
And it's just that, which makes us appreciate brother Rich. Not only does he drop ORIGINAL "polysyllabic" rhymes, but his beats are SICK. Even Buck haters can't argue with that. The way he incorporates certain breaks into his compositions will make any producer scratch his head. His drums are also gems. And while his cuts alone may not turn your head, it's his style that's the ball-buster. It just sucks that you have to see it live to really appreciate what's going on. AND WITH THE SIMULTANEOUS BEAT-JUGGLING AND RAPPING!? Who can deny talent like that? or at least the coordination? For those rockers who can't relate, imagine drumming and singing at the same time. It can be done but it's pretty darn tough.

Most heads that I know who don't like Buck hate him on the strength of his voice. His conversational delivery is also a big turn-off. On a side note though, it's for this reason that I really appreciate "Wicked and Weird." He stepped out of his norm and made a SUPER FUN DRIVING SONG. and trust me, don't knock 'til you try it. Download it, burn it, and bump it while you speed on the freeway. It's fun stuff.

Tastes vary. It's all hip hop though. And it's all love. Some cats just need to stop being so damn negative and others need to stop trying to convince people that their taste is wrong. Spread the gospel in subtle ways, but there's no need to be a friggin' hip hop missionary.
