I'm getting jealous of this DVD Audio thing

What a dope fuckin' idea. Grouch's looks to be even iller than daddy kev's from the description... I'ma have to get me some of these. I wish I could make a DVD Audio CD but I have no idea how.

sure it might have good sound quality, but its not like were all suffering because cd quality these days isnt good enough


looks to me like all it means is you have to have a dvd player now to listen to your cd....

it's surround sound. like in the movie theatre. but it's just the music. CDs are just stereo. this is 5.1 surround sound. dope shit.

so it seems like it would only be worth getting if you have a good surround sound speaker set up. i dont know if i really wanna spend some extra money to listen to songs, which i already have, on my 19" tv screen.

it's good technology, but it doesn't make sense to put these out right now...how many people have DVD players in there car?

i don't have a car. i listen to music at home. most people (who live in their own homes at least) listen to music at home. especially people who would rather bump music than watch TV. i have a surround sound dvd setup in my living room (courtesy of my housemate) and it's prime for surround sound audio, that is why i am excited. i think it's a great idea. and 5.1 in the car is the next big thing. just wait...

listening to music in my car is a big thing to me...I love jamming while I drive...I always look forward to putting a good CD in my car...

Plus there's a "slide show" that goes along with the music, as well as some videos......

i wonder if the process is similar to creating quadraphonic sound.....

yeah, the slide show thing, that is why i said it seems a little fresher than d kev's, it has added visuals during the music part.
