how do yall write ya songs?
do u have a certain method?

i dont really have any, i have an annoying habit of writin to a beat all in one sitting, putting it down, picking it up later,
deciding that i dont want to write to that particular beat anymore or about that subject, then proceeding to start another song on a different beat.
there is absolutely no method to my madness.

I also got a bunch of scattered papers...but i usually think of a concept..try to find a beat that goes wit it...write couple verses..i suck at chorus' so i get one of my patnas to spit on that...then i just record...

But sometimes i just start off wit like a bar..then just start writin off of that and maybe come up wit a topic...

But i have no real way..

yea i think it varies person to person......i have no set method, i do shit differently all the time .....sometimes i have an idea in mind, sometimes i come up with an idea over time......

If I have time to kill, I'll sit down and brainstorm about what to write about and start putting together rhymes. Even if I don't have a certain topic I want to write about, the more rhymes I throw down, it usually comes together into some kind of topic. You can always fix it up or add to it any time.

Sometimes I might think of a particular rhyme and write it down so I don't forget it. Enough random rhymes can go into certain songs or make a whole song of their own.

If I already have a beat, I'll play it and freestyle into a tape recorder. Then I could elaborate on the cool flows and throw out the whack shit.

Either way, there's many ways to do it. Just do what you're comfortable with, and there's no set way to really flow. Everything works. Just depends on the situation and your mood.

Most of the time for me, If i am going through my day i keep a pen in my pocket and a piece of paper. And when something gets me thinking i write that thought and use it as a concept later when i have time to put things together.

But sometimes i starting just rhyming in my head and i write what ever i remember.

I just let the pen go to work......no beat,no concept, ..just pick up the pen and the paper and let it do its thang and it always end up workin out in the end

My verse come in bits a pieces throughout the day... unless i'm building w/a group of heads, then i can usually knock out 16bars in like 15 minutes.....

i don't write shit down...i just listen to the beat while forming the lyrics in my head...each line is memorized as i'm repeating in my head.

i used to write, but then i found that i wouldn't edit anything. once i put it on the paper, i was convinced that was it, because i didn't want to erase or cross out anything.

another reason for my method is so when i jump right in the booth, it's memorized. i'm not 'reading while rapping'. all my concentration is on my flow, voice, etc. it takes far less takes...

been using this method for about two years...picked it up from the homie Encore. i always noticed his flow was on point all the time. he told me he doesn't write...

Jay-z uses this method too...go figure.

You're different from everyone, so do what feels comfortable.
If there's too much going on in my head, I write, it down, but subconciously it will always come back to you. If something's pertinent to you or the situation, then it will find you again.
You can pick up a pencil and jot down everything about it and not all shit has to come together like that. Brainstorm, and don't let your mind tell you that it doesen't sound right, or someone may not like that, or this isn't what I should be doing. "You can do anything you put your mind to"-Eminem

write about already.
