Does anyone in here have real strong beliefs in any political ideologies? Are there any issues out there that you're all about? Democrats, Republicans, Libertarians, Greens, Independents? Do you participate in the current system or are you a cynic or a non-believer of the political process?

post up...I'm curious where my peers stand on the decisions being made by those in power...

i used to think i was political , but now i believe politics are dumb and that people who talk about them are dummies (although i really do love political cartoons and their history). no, i take that back, a lot of people who talk about politics don't know what the hell they're talking about, and i don't want to be one of those people, so instead of embarassing myself by trying to be political, i try to focus on either the simple little things in life or on an even bigger picture. that's not to say that several "political" topics or issues are beyond my interest. i find many "politically-charged" or "politically-influenced" personalities very interesting & quite crucial to the continuance of the human race on earth. but for the most part, politics = bullshit. and talking about them is like bullshiting about bullshit, which is what i am doing right now. so i guess you could say i'm a political bullshitter. so, i have my little bullshit opinions about political issues and social perspectives, but for the most part, i try to stay out of the devil's business and "hope" he stays out of mine.

For me when it comes to politics, I basically have to think selfishly. I think everyone should. "What's in my best interests?" you know? (and a huge spike in gas prices, sending peoples fathers into war, and a huge list of other discrepencies(spl?) are certainly NOT in best interest).

So pretty much, my stance stems from the current situation/state of things, more or less right and wrong, and other basic, necassary factors, than a complete devotion/association with a particular group.

Not a very complex theory, but it works for me.

Politics are bullshit.

when it comes to politics, i am a yes man and usually i do what O'Reilly tells me.-i used to be political but it is bullshit. For instance, there is no way we can stop the war in Iraq, unless America as a whole goes on strike---the government will do what it wants and if we don't like it tough, the war will go on, and if the majority of people don't approve of the war, then Bush won't get reelected, but the war will still have started.

i vote and i'm registered as a democrat, but i'm not really a democrat, more middle of the road, it depends on the issue
- i didn't vote in the last election though because i had just moved to cali and didn't feel like i had the experience and knowledge to make an informed decision

- i absolutely HATE the two party system and if there were one thing i could change about politics it would be NO political parties, only organizations for each specific issue, such as environmental, pro/anti choice, education, foreign relations, etc.

I ma hardcore democrat, hardcore liberal, and I am mad at my party for going TOO FAR TO THE RIGHT.

I am not a big fan of Al Sharpton but I agree with him when he says the party is too far to the right, Kerry hart will get the democratic nomination and then get creamed against bush becuase Kerry Hart is about as charismatic as my butt cheeks when they warm the couch.

And that is what most political campaigns comes down too, is who got the most charisma. Its not their policy, it is not their beliefs, it is not their background, it is how well they are perceived by the american people, and we as americans love entertainment, so we vote for the most entertaining.

I mean look at the last 4 presidents we had. Reagan won becuase he was an actor, and knew how to address the american audience. He razzle dazzled them with the whole National Debt/stack bills on top of eachother and it will reach the moon deal. Bush Sr won becuase dukakis was too short to be seen and bush sr was quite funny with his antics. Clinton was the Epitome of Charisma, no explanation needed. And Bush, jr won becuase AL GORE WAS AN ABSOLUTE STIFF.

Thats all politics comes down to nowadays, nobody pays attention to the political Rhetoric, and thats a shame.

Actually Bush Jr. didnt beat Al Gore. The Supreme Court pretty much appointed our current President.

As for me, I really dont align myself with any political party, as I am totally against a two party system that are pretty much identical, with the exception of a few social issues. Take into account the last presidential election in which we the country was forced to select the "evil of two lessers." Republicans and Democrats have become a conjoined evil serpeant bent on insuring that the top 1% of the population control 95% of the wealth in America. I personally vote Green. But I vote to make sure my discontent with the way things are in America and the two party system is acknowledged.

LuckyIam.PSC for President!

Sounds good to me. If Eric B. had a chance, I think PSC could draw in a good voting bloc.

Anybody know for what party and who would be his VP and his other appointees?

i'm independent. my parents are hardcore republicans. i try to not affil with a party and just focus on the platforms/issues that each candidate tries to represent.

that's the truth! there's a couple "radicals" in there though. There's this female democrat from Cali that has openly opposed the war since day one - which is risking a lot. Bravo.
