Anyone have any insight to the reason why? I checked the def jux web site but it didn't say anything about it.

It's a colection of various songs from the past
so DEF JUX doesn't have the rights to these
heres a description from a store

the new "Sleepyheads" CD is an essential collection of Mr. Lif vinyl-only rarities, and previously unreleased material which has never been available in any format. 13 classic tracks including the hit singles "Elektro", "Triangular Warfare", "Farmhand", "The Nothing", "Inhmuan Capabilities", "Settle The Score" and more. Also includes the tracks from the Brick Records "Rebel Alliance" compilation and Ozone's "Coast II Coast", super-rare songs "Day of Power" and "Target Gristle", and a freestyle performance from 1998's Night Train radio show.

thats why

peace

this album is pretty dope. Lif doesnt get too political on it. its mostly just good beats and ill flows. not many hooks, just flows (but then again, lif usually doent use hooks in his songs). Lif is verbally killin it on this album. dope cuts too.

PEACE

that doesn't make sense. if they are previously unreleased then how are they 'classic?'

I recently downloaded "Madness In A Cup", I've never downloaded anything from mr. lif before, and I didn't really dig it.

Can someone recommend me a decent song from him? Something off this new album you guys say isn't on definitive jux perhaps?

Download "a glimpse of the struggle", "phantom" and "home of the brave" and then I think you'll like Mr. Lif.

I like that "Because They Made It That Way" track. It's nice to see it's on a full length, I'll have to cop it sometime just for that track.

I'm sorry, I don't give a fuck what any of you say, but I've been feeling like def jux has been coming kinda weak. Shit, read the recent interviews with lif, he even talks about it. Don't get me wrong, I understand why they feel like they should expand or whatever, but they shouldn't forget why we started listening to that shit in the first place.
