View Full Version : Thoughts on the State of the Union?
someone wanna tell me how he's gonna drop income taxes from and average of 1178$ per person per household down to 45 bucks!?!? Did i hear wrong?
And did anyone else notice how he suddenly wants to fund research for hydrogen powered cars so "our fuel doesn't have to be supplied by foreign resources"....hmmm......
Anyway, post your thoughts.
Yeah, that shit about the hydrogen cars came outta nowhere. It's like, "in the future we're going to drive cars that fly and run on dog poop and everything will be like The Jetson's" So far hydrogen powered cars have proven to be too volatile and end up creating huge explosions when crashed. I think he was talking about it just to make people think he was doing something for the environment, and to show that he's not just an oil puppet. Of course it's all bullshit...
and ended up watchin zoolander on dvd. all i heard was him talkin bout america protecting the world, blah blah blah, standing ovation.. shut the fuck up and sit down already!.. i just could not bear listening any longer.

i think the hydrogen cars is a noble idea but i don't know if it'll actually work.. the cars would have to be cheaper than the good old gasoline cars and i don't know if that'll be the case... i didn't really like the actualy speech bush did because of all the clapping... talk, clap, talk, clap. I liked the debates after though.. like cnn had diane feinstein and she was saying how she didn't approve of going after iraq without UN consent and that she didn't think they had enough evidence!

straight up 15 billion over the next 5 years to stop AIDS...it's good n' all to help out the cause...i guess the way we solve debt in america is to add more debt...
i wish it worked the same way for me...damn i hate debt...

what WOULD someone wanna hear
it seems from either side no one will give the opposite
side a chance
(i am not pro bush)
tax cuts would be fuckin great tho
hydrogen cars...i dont think he was saying next week
we will all be in them...i think it was a child born today
we would like to have driving a hydrogen powered car
when they come to age....so i know in the first 16 years
of my life a whole lot of advances have come along
its still fuck bush.....but i get frustrated with people
who state their opinion on different political matters when
they cant do it being able to listen to all points and then people
who are uneducated to the topics and only speak on what
they hear on tv or some word of mouth...no blood for oil bumper
stickers....
mainly im looking forward to what access thought of the state
of the union...i definatly respect his opinion
Yo MBClassic. That quote of yours is the hotness.
I'm curious to hear Acess' opinion as well as Jay's (gauranteed opposite viewpoints, to the fullest extent of the term).

the way bush and most republicans see it is that the money that the goverment has is really the peoples money. so in turn you cut spending on programs like wellfare social security and other programs. you also need to understand that people just dont pay taxes. there are multiple tax brackets. he was just stating one particular instance where that could happen if all the i's are dotted. did anyone notice how when he was talking about tax cuts none of the democrats stood up? and he didnt say anything about make a hydrogen car. he talked about government funding to help researchers make advances towards a hydrogen car maybe one day.

"and he didnt say anything about make a hydrogen car. he talked about government funding to help researchers make advances towards a hydrogen car maybe one day."
so... what did he say? sounds to me like he said he plans on having hydrogen cars in the future. you just contradicted yourself.

that research will be used for weapons too. the military would save billions if they didnt have to pay for gas. he was asking congress to provide funding. 1.2 billion i believe it was. congress doesnt actually make a car. its a federal grant most likely to universties and government funded research facilities.

Of course, but what is that grant specified/designated for? Hydrogen cars. Hence the original summarization that he made an out-of-the-blue remark about hcars.

tax cuts for the rich is made to encourage the rich to invest, which creates jobs, which makes the world better! Reagan said so!
