What do you guys think of this? I know a lot of acey fans who heard it and thought it was wack, haven't really heard the whole thing, should I save my money?

Its cool to listen to. I think the replay vaule of it goes down a little bit though after quite a few listens. I like the songs on there but, I think the project could've been a little better than what it was. But, Acey will still be one of the top emcees though.

i thought 'love and hate' was a disappointment, although i like it more than his other recent releases - 'accepted eclectic' and the project with elusive.

it's not wack and definitely has some good tracks, but i've been expecting a lot more from acey. after i bought it i only had it in my rotation for a couple of days and haven't really listened to it since.

even though it has a couple of good songs there's really only one track that i can play over and over - 'so much pain' with riddlore and self-jupiter. that's the shit right there...

It also can't be considered great...unless of course the CD only has 8 songs (even 9...I'll allow one weak song on an album, but anymore than that and the best that it could be is a "good" CD).

...I still think "Moonlight Skies" is the best song on the LP!

aceys like nas to me...they both got one top 5 alltime hiphop albums (in my opinion) and have never come close again...

i like acey a hundred times more than nas. nas's releases after illmatic were complete trash (again in my opinion) whereas acey has some good releases (love and hate, all balls dont bounce)

thats just my two cents

Yep, it's not wack at all. Even if folks think Acey fell off he's still better than most of the MCs out.

i already had a post about this, but once again, love and hate is a dope cd, definitely worth the 15 bucks. theres a wide range of styles, but all the tracks are quality and every verse is creative. production is solid too.

Yeah, I think this sums it up. Some of the beats just don't sound all that great for Acey's style. Especially the first song (not the intro), it sounds like something off of "Hello Nasty". There definately are some good songs on the album...but as an album it just doesn't compare to "All Balls Don't Bounce" or "A Book of Human Language" (or "Who Framed the A-Team" or "Haiku d'Etat" or "To Whom it May Concern" or "Inner City Griots" or "Project Blowed"). So, I dunno if Acey fell off or if he's just working with the wrong producers now - "Accepted Ecclectic" and "Hip Hop and the World..." were both fairly horrible albums and the beats are definately a reason for those two sucking, but I think the lyrics were kinda lacking on those too. At least with "L&H" Acey's come back with some fairly good lyrics (although there's some corny or bland stuff too).
So what's up with "A Book of Human Language 2"? Is Mumbles producing it? Is it for real or is it just a rumor?

i think it's pretty solid. something to bring in newer and younger fans in.. then, afterwards, they'll start digging back and discovering the classic acey shit.

well, here's one place:

http://www.midheaven.com/artists/haiku.detat.html

i would also suggest that you look in your local mom and pop record store racks (cd only, one 12" came out like 2 years before the album dropped, but good luck finding that).

i havent heard anything about it but i strongly doubt mumbles being on it. acey and mumbles had a falling out after bohl. lets just say the business end of it wasnt as perfect as the record

Not if it's shit like "Accepted Ecclectic" or "Hip Hop and the World We Live In".
And that's too bad about the Acey/Mumbles falling out...I think Mumbles makes the perfect music for Acey's voice and delivery.

I think it'd be tight if OD hooked up with Acey for BOHL2.

Yeah, but scrap the name and just make it a new project. I don't doubt it would be dope, but it shouldn't be titled BOHL2 unless he builds with Mumbles.......

Yup, he's in it. He was on a Conan rerun on Comedy Central a few nights ago talking about it.

new rocky huh? with stalone or what?

new bohl with only mumbles in my opinion but a project would be dope with those other producers. i like records that feature one producer...generally
