3MG beats were like kinda dark, dirty, dope... maybe even "trippy" (gayest fuck word but I cant think of anything else right now).. I like his beats alot (most of them) but I just dont think theyre quite "melancholic".

not really. Melancholy is more than just hinting at dark and maybe sort of depressing but not extremly so. Melancholic, to me sounds more like.... uncontrolable anger. Hiphop beats dont usually capture that. And the 3MG beats didnt exactly make you want to put your fist through a wall or anything.
