this track is blazing. i read somewhere that George Clinton told Eddie Hazel (the guitar player) to play like "your mother just died". Damn, it feels like it...

DOPE track though.

Yeah, Maggot Brain is damn emotional. Have you heard the cover that Mike Watt and J. Mascis did on "Ballhog or Tugboat"? I don't really like J. Mascis, but he plays a pretty mean guitar on that cover.
Right now I'm thinking Doug Martsch has some really great emotional songs.

I love showing folks music. If they can dig it, they deserve it. Anyway, Eddie Hazel is an amazing guitar player. You can tell he was influenced by Hendrix.

I highly reconmend checking out their first S/T LP from 1970. There's a track on there called "Good Old Music". It's a classic break...

Also, check out the 'Maggot Brain' LP. It's got some classic material on it. "you and your folks, me and my folks" is a dope song about inter-racial relationships.

But you're right, Funkedelic can get pretty nutty sometimes.
