dude from the uk
the streets
the lp is called
"original pirate material"
its some uk hip hop garage shit
at first i was eeeeeh on it but after
a few listens im kinda feelin it
You mean that skinny, crooked teeth Eminem looking motherfucker? I think i read an article about him in Rolling Stone. Doesn't he rap about smoking herb and playing Playstation a grip? I dunno... that about sums up what i read.
He's dope though?

i wouldnt reallly say he "raps"
it's some different shit
worth a listen...his video is on the cd
it is raw as fuck
Hmmm... i'll have to peep it. I guess England loves him.
I heard a couple songs on the radio and wasn't really feeling it - the lyrics were just a step above Paul Barnum as far as I'm concerned...okay, maybe a flight of steps above him, but still not good enough to listen to.
Hmm. Good to see some conflicting opinions. This makes me want to formulate my own even more.
All though i gotta say, if it's ANYTHING like gay ass Paul Barman, it will be disposed of. i can't stand that fool.

dude dont look at this as some hip hop shit
its far from hip hop....its more like garage
with hip hop influence
you cant compare this with ANYONE in the US
if you go into listeing to any cd with a meter
to judge it (compare it to) it better not come close
i dont want any 2 artists to sound alike
I NEED VARIETY
I didn't mean to say that they sound like Paul Barnum - they don't at all. I just thought the lyrics were so very lame, and the lamest lyrics I could think of was PB, so I drew a line between their lyrics to compare the lameness. I've only heard one or two songs but it does sound like other UK hiphop that I've heard, but yeah, maybe a bit more new-wave garage (haha, how you like that genre? shit...). Like what's that group - The Avalanche or something like that?

on a whole garage hasnt impressed me
i like the streets cause he will even say
he isnt an mc...he is just influenced by hip hop
he has a unique way of covering topics
and euro slang always is good for a laugh
watch the video....its the best way to get
the whoe vibe the song is lets push things forward
"lets put on the classics and have a little dance shall we"

"geezers need excitement"
that song made me giggle when I first heard it. Personaly I dig the streets. I dont really care for all the songs on OPM, but there a couple that are good, some kinda silly. Just my .02cents.
of i think URB's site. the beats are alright. it's just a british dude with a heavy cockney accent talking about british city life. i really couldn't understand most of what he was saying... it is something different.. but it's definitely not something you could just sing along to at all. I actually do dig a lot of UK garage and 2-step although i don't really follow it or anything... i guess my days as a spackle-headed sf club kid had something to do with it. but The Streets is far from dance music, but also far from your traditional rapping..
