Murs and Slug can bring that heat!!! Felt 2 was good but i thought the first felt was way better. I saw that aesop rock was producing it. I'm not really into Aesop rock never really liked his stuff, maybe because i always thought he had a annyoning voice. Can't wait for this album, Murs and Slug don't disappoint!

i dont mind appleseed, music for earthworms, float, labor days, and daylight ep, dont really dig anything after 2002 much. but the new felt, from what i heard, as some pretty tight bangers. permanent standby and bass for your tuck seem tight from the clips i hear so far. some sounds like abstract aesop thou.:)
*track 20 "get it up" features vocals by aesop rock.
**end of disc it says something like... "stick a fork in it we got more to give...stay turned for felt number four, a tribute to Heidi Fleiss,"...... nice!

Nice, Felt 4 huh? Murs and Slug could be 60 years old and still rapping.... It's nothing to them.

Really? Gotta say I think the exact opposite. Like 2 is the only one I still bump. I like The Grouch's production quite a bit on his own records. But he's not fucking with one of Ant's finest works; and the chemistry between Murs & Slug on the album is just way better. IMO.

i really enjoed number too more as well, ant killed it.
....but i got to say, track 2 and 9 were straight bangers off felt one thou....near classics in my opinion. them two & all i can do. (track names)
i might like this one(3) even more...ill have too give it a week or too after it drops before i can really call it... murs and slug keep getting smoother together as the albums roll on. they worked good with aesop rock. nice...

I too think the first was wayy better than the second. I only listen to the second for the few bangers it has. The first Felt I can listen to up and down without skipping..more consistent on all cylinders imo. Gotta say tho, from the quick skim listen of Felt 3, Aesop sounds to be doing a good job on the beats...might even be the standout of the project.

yeah, i hear you about that, throw-(Ur)-(L's)up...i spin the first one without skipping a track either, its a solid release. i am with you on that.
side comment - one should take note that felt 2 also has close to double the amount of tracks....
for me, a disc isnt rated as high for the amount of bangers it has, when its under 10 tracks deep... also makes it easier not too skip as much, cause right after you put it on and get thru a blunt, the disc is over.:p
with this point said, i am kinda dissappointed to see the new grouch album coming out in december, only has 9 tracks...

Well Felt 3 definitely has the Def Jux sound to it. Abstract beats, L0ts of Bass, sound effects, some scratching. Aesop Rock's work is very similar to El-Ps. In my opinion. It's like murs, slug and aesop rock threw a big ass party at area 51 and recorded a album. The beats would of been perfect for some body like subtitle or the shapeshiters, well known for abstract beats and bass. Murs and Slug pull it off very nice in this album. You can give these guys a heavy metal beat or any beat and they can pull it off. If you like getting drunk and pushing your friends in the pool, jumping off roof tops and banging your head on the wall, this album is for you!!! Even if you don't it's still a listenable album. I'm just feeling a couple of tracks after one full listen, i will need to listen at least 5 more time before i give it a final rating but so far so good. I never really got into Aesop rock. I have only listened to Labor dayz and bazooka tooth. Both albums i thought we good, not great. Any other albums you recommend?

anything before labor days really....
float is a really good one. got a track with slug on it titled "ill be ok" ...i would check that album first. appleseed and music for earthworms are from demo cassette tape days. raw beats. not too abstract.

thanks man, i'll check them out. I saw on a different thread that you (diggingdeep) and some other people were talking about sandpeople. I never heard about them before and ive been listening underground hip hop for a while now, can't believe i never came across them. I started listening to some of there albums and i'm impressed. These guys can flow! Always good to hear new music that you could bump.

yea, when i first came across sandpeople, i was impressed, plus they drop music like mad too, kinda like the legends do it. good shit for sure. what do you like from them? i havent really found anything i dont like, the starter album i tell people is long story short....but personally ive been bumping all the new sapinet and debaser albums a bunch. plus the new iame. police buratity and illmaculate's the raincheck mixtape are just as dope.... cant wait to grab the prime, hopefully catch them live.

Ive been bumping Honest Racket, Point of View, B-sides 1 and 2.
"Bad neighbors" (MO-B and Simple)
Al-One- "Something to think about"
Clockwerk-"Due Yesterday".
Some bangers hits on these for sure! I created a playlist from these albums and i found at least 30 songs that i really like. Dope S.H.I.T! Been playing these for at least 2 weeks and all my friends wanna know who they are. I'm glad i found about these guys. they kinda of remind of sheatshop union. What happened to them anyways i haven't heard from them in a minute.

killer album:highfive: thanks to aesoprock, slug and murs for making some good music for 2009.

i was kind of hoping they would bring 9th wonder into the mix...

theres always a possibility...
even a few slug appearances on the next album fornever between murs and 9th would be nice. also, it would be interesting to see sapinet make an album for them, but thats more "far off", than your idea...i just think thats another one who could to some damage behind the boards. or evidence, now that he is on rhymesayers...

one of my favorites of the year! i'm a huge felt fan and not really a huge aes rock fan and this is my favorite felt by far. the last two felts were great especially lisa bonet but this is a totally different animal altogether. you will find no "dirty girls" on this disc. the fun female rap felt is known for is gone and it has been replaced with dark, brooding rhymes over a sonic landscape of other worldly beats. i bump it from beginning to end, no skips. it sucks so many people hate this cd but i guess they knew they there was a chance of that. it's funny, you would think these 3 being on a cd together would be universally acclaimed a classic and it got the worst reviews for any underground hip-hop album in 2009. oh well...can't please 'em all i guess.
