Finally available again on vinyl thanks to RJ re-acquiring the rights
from Def Jux, and newly re-pressed on CD containing two unreleased
bonus tracks "Thine Planetarium" and "Before Or Since." Simply put,
it was one of the best albums of 2002, it's really an amazing hip hop
album start to finish, period. In addition to RJ's beautiful
instrumental productions and penchant for sampling...like...the true
art form of it, there were also notable, unskippable in my opinion,
guest appearances that worked just as well as the beats itself. You
couldn't just pass it up as another instrumental hip hop album, it
really is special and timeless and still RJD2's most recognized work.
A no brainer if you don't have it already or have been looking for it
on vinyl.

Bassnectar - Cozza Frenzy CD WITH FREE POSTER

supplied beats to a wide range of artists, including gold selling R&B

Mr. Chop - For Pete's Sake CD

Mr. Chop, the multi-talented producer, engineer, guitar-reared multi-
instrumentalist behind a host of releases on Now-Again and Jazzman
Records, couldn't have foretold that the legendary rapper MF Doom
would call him "the illest to grace the boards" after tapping into
his otherworldly skills as co-producer/co-writer on a series of
tracks on the recently released Born Like This album on Lex Records.
Nor could he have foretold that Doom's praise would lead to an offer
to rework psych funk, jazz and rock covers of producer Pete Rock's
greatest beats. Nor could he have called that Pete Rock's long time
collaborator, upon hearing the versions of "T.R.O.Y." and "Straighten
It Out" would beg to record an album with him. But here he is,
standing proudly behind 17 tracks that he recorded at his Cheshire,
England-based Ape Studios with the likes of The Heliocentric's
Malcolm Catto, Jake Ferguson and Mike Burnham that offer up a
futuristic mixture of fuzzy psychedelia, funk, jazz and musique
concrete informed by years of record collecting and Hip Hop studies.
His is a unique take and has lead to an album that the heads will
recognize by, say, the Tom Scott sax-line Pete Rock poached for
"T.R.O.Y.," or a host of other sample-based calls and response that
Chop has deconstructed into their component parts and reassembled
again. But his is an album that will appeal to music lovers,
regardless of their musical leaning, as a master-class in fuzzy,
funky grooves. Package includes a Deluxe "mini LP" gatefold package
including thick, cardboard "paste-on" silver foil sleeve.

Paten Locke - Super Ramen Rocketship LP

A bonafide triple threat and now on vinyl! Producer/DJ/Emcee aka
Therapy of the AB's (Alias Brothers) or formerly the Jacksonville,
Florida group known as Asamov drops his debut on Tres Records, one of
the most consistent labels in underground hip hop today! With so many
breakthrough artists and albums on their label such as Shawn Jackson,
Y Society, Giant Panda, Johnson and Johnson, and much much more, I
assume they've got to be a pretty selective collective of people in
order to maintain this reputation. That said, Tres has done it again!
And out of nowhere too! Only a few months back Paten Locke's lead
single "Break Thru" was released, but it left us eager for more and
the album delivers on all levels. Beats and lyrics, traditional and
modern, Super Ramen Rocketship has completed lift off and we are
happy to report that it is one of our favorites and worthy of its
Tres Records release. We've actually had the in-store demo playing
since the summer and we have been waiting to be able to share it with
the rest of you all this time...I actually feel guilty cuz of it. No
guests, no guest producers, no guest dj laying down cuts...Paten does
it all. Don't sleep!
