NEW DVD's:

Big Pun - Big Pun: The Legacy DVD
http://www.accesshiphop.com/store/?itemid=17976
His rhymes caught attention of millions. His flow is unmatched by
any. His story is captivating and triumphant. Back in 98, Big Pun, a
Puerto Rican from the Bronx made history by becoming the first
Latino rapper to sell over a million records. Later that year his
album Capital Punishment was nominated for a Grammy and nearly every
artist in the Hip Hop community desired to record with Pun. His
presence stunned the music world, as fans patiently awaited his
future releases. Tragically, on February 7th 2000, Big Pun's life
was cut short when he suffered a heart attack. Experience the ups
and the downs, even the story of his struggle with weight gain, his
involvement with Terror Squad and more through a series of
interviews with today's Hip Hop stars and never before seen footage.
Rest in power, Pun...

FEATURED ITEMS OF THE WEEK:

Fashawn - Boy Meets World CD (with free mix CD while supplies last!)
http://www.accesshiphop.com/store/?itemid=18156
Hailing from Fresno, California, Fashawn has all the charisma of a
modern-day emcee and the rhyming chops of a veteran beyond his
years. For a 20-year-old, his raw talent, songwriting ability and
versatility, is very mature; and as child from the 90's rather than
the 80's his love for traditional and golden era hip hop is evident
over Exiles production on the entire album. "Boy Meets World is just
a story about a kid growing up," explains Fashawn. "It's my story,
it's very honest, it's very in depth. So whatever you thought you
knew about me, listen to this and you'll really get a good look at
who I am. It's going to be classic." This one has gotten so much
buzz lately and making its way on many top picks of 2009 lists as we
head to the end of the year. Featuring guest appearances by Aloe
Blacc, Mistah FAB and Evidence. While supplies last, when you
purchase "Boy Meets World" you get free: Fashawn's "The Antidote"
limited mixtape CD compiled and produced by The Alchemist.

Grayskul & Maker - Graymaker CD
http://www.accesshiphop.com/store/?itemid=18206
JFK & Onry Ozzborn, better known as Grayskul, have teamed up with
indie superstar beatsmith Maker to form Graymaker! After two
previous releases gave them larger exposure through Rhymesayers, the
Oldominion members have stayed busy over the years touring and
collaborating, including releasing last year's amazing Gigantics
compilation, but never have they come so clean like this team up
with Maker. The depth of his production inspires others to bring out
raw emotion and artistry in their lyrics and Graymaker is just one
more reason why so many people would want to get even just a taste
of a beat from Maker. Featuring guest appearances by Qwazaar and
Zavala.

jazzy hip hop while speaking from the soul. Featuring guest
appearances from El Da Sensei and Insight.

Broadcast & Focus Group - Investigate Witch Cults of the Radio Age CD
http://www.accesshiphop.com/store/?itemid=18044
Broadcast are back with a new unique psychedelic collaborative album
with renowned graphic and musical artist Julian House (aka The Focus
Group) titled, Investigate Witch Cults of the Radio Age. Trish
Keenan and James Cargill, have collaborated with renowned designer
Julian House to create an album pulling in both collaborators'
unique sense of melody and love of library music and film scores.
After a long hiatus, it can be said with confidence that Broadcast's
return is greeted with much anticipation. From their beginnings in
1995, Broadcast's aesthetic has remained a combination of their love
for film, library music and electronics with psych-pop color - a
style which has gained them an enthusiastic fanbase including
musicians such as Flying Lotus, Stereolab, Dangermouse. Their music
is also a popular choice for film and TV, feat. on the soundtracks
of many films as well as TV shows such as "The L-Word", "Skins" and
"CSI".

Diamond District - In The Ruff CD
http://www.accesshiphop.com/store/?itemid=17684
The new DC hip hop group "The Diamond District", includes Oddisee,
X.O. & YU. Oddisee's soulful, haunting samples over bass-heavy beat
breaks create the perfect instrumentals for street savvy,
politically conscious lyrics by XO, YU and Oddisee himself. "In The
Ruff" is a raw mid-90's Boom-Bap themed album for the DC state of
mind, destined to appeal to all lovers of hip hop's golden era,
managing to travel back in time and push the boundaries of DC
Hip-Hop simultaneously.

Hudson Mohawke - Butter CD/2LP
http://www.accesshiphop.com/store/?itemid=18042
http://www.accesshiphop.com/store/?itemid=18043
Explaining why the album is called Butter, Hudson says: "the Butter
idea, as well as just wanting to give the album a simple striking
name, also came from my attempt at a sort of prog rock meets vintage
soul meets sleazy R'n'B aesthetic - Isaac Hayes 'hot buttered soul'.
I really wanted the title to somehow emphasize the arrangements on
the record, how I've tried to create songs as opposed to just
computer driven arrangements, how the record flows. I think compared
to some of my earlier production it's smoother in some ways as well,
like butter for the eardrums." (from Warp.net)

J Dilla (Jay Dee) - Dillanthology 3 CD
http://www.accesshiphop.com/store/?itemid=18018
This is the 3rd and final album in Rapster's retrospective series on
the late rap production legend. This one collects the work that
Dilla did under his own name.

Kam Moye (Supastition) - Splitting Image CD
http://www.accesshiphop.com/store/?itemid=18022
Though his name may not be a household name, there are few indie
artists who have accomplished what he has done on his own. Beginning
his career in the mid-90's under the alias of Supastition, Kam Moye
has managed to become an international phenomenon while still being
relatively unknown in his home state of NC. Kam Moye has managed to
build a solid fanbase and credible reputation. The Greenville, North
Carolina-native has appeared on tracks alongside the likes of hip
hop artists such as KRS One, Little Brother, Royce the 5'9, Elzhi
(Slum Village), Marco Polo, Rasco, 9th Wonder, Skyzoo,
Cunninlynguists, Bahamadia, Marco Polo, Akrobatik, and many others.
Kam's music has been praised by heavyweights such as ?uestlove (The
Roots) and DJ Premier (who featured his song on a recent mixtape) to
JZone, Evidence (Dilated People) and DJ Rhettmatic. With the
assistance of Big Dho, Kam Moye recently inked an album deal with
Bay Area-based Myx Music Label to release the debut Kam Moye album,
Splitting Image. MYX Music Label began in 2007 by industry veteran
Karim Panni of the Boom Bap Project (Rhymesayers Entertainment). The
upcoming Splitting Image album is currently slated for a Fall 2009
release date on MYX Music Label/RBC. As Kam states, "I've paid
plenty of dues...but this will be my defining moment. Forget what
you have heard and watch what's about to happen".

Kool Keith & Denis Deft - Bikinis & Thongs Collection CD
http://www.accesshiphop.com/store/?itemid=18023
Kool Keith, Denis Deft and Yeti Beats present the Bikinis & Thongs
Collection, once again taps into the pornographic side of things
dating back to Sex Style. Because you just can't get enough Kool
Keith in my opinion...

LMNO & Yann Kesz - The Brunt / Just Want You 12"
http://www.accesshiphop.com/store/?itemid=18227
Through the course of his career as a solo artist and member of the
Visionaries, LMNO has worked with some of the world's best beat-
makers including: JayDee, Pete Rock, Madlib, OhNo, Beat Junkies
JRocc, Babu, Rhettmatic, and more. With a high standard for superb
production, LMNO launches out of the West Coast underground and
collaborates with one of France's premiere emerging producers Yann
Kesz. With gritty soulful samples and undulating beat production, it
only seems appropriate that these two gems + single exclusive from
the full-length album Devilish Dandruff With Holy Shampoo, would be
released on the trustiest format for hip-hop, ahh yess, vinyl.

Morgue/Son Of A Bricklayer - split 7" (+ Empire Guilt CDR)
http://www.accesshiphop.com/store/?itemid=18345
Dark instrumentals by Morgue and Son Of A Bricklayer, released in
France by Vulgar Records on a square lathe cut 7" on clear vinyl.
Limited edition of only 40 (hand-numbered on the enclosed info
sheet). Packaged with a black CDR of the Empire Guilt album (14
untitled tracks), a Vulgar Records sticker and an info sheet.

Mr. Thing - Strange Breaks... vol. II 2xCD/2LP
http://www.accesshiphop.com/store/?itemid=18145
http://www.accesshiphop.com/store/?itemid=18146
This is the second in a series of five compilations of rare and
sought-after breaks dug up by DJ / producer Mr. Thing. Tracks span
from soul, disco, jazz, funk, folk and soft library records. Some
you've probably never heard, some will be familiar from classic hip
hop tracks. Volume one is now hard to find on vinyl so don't sleep
this time!

Mulatu Astatke - New York - Addis - London CD
http://www.accesshiphop.com/store/?itemid=18143
Full title is: New York - Addis - London - The Story Of Ethio Jazz
1965-1975. This release is truly is the essential Mulatu, covering
his first recordings in the UK during 1965, his groundbreaking
fusions for the small Worthy label in New York and his key 70s
recordings back in Addis on Amha, Phillips and Axum. Vibraphone and
keyboard player, master arranger and bandleader, Mulatu Astatke is
one of the all-time greats of Ethiopian music and the creator of his
own original music form, Ethio jazz. Through the acclaimed
Ethiopiques album series and through featuring on the soundtrack to
the Jim Jarmusch film Broken Flowers, his music has belatedly
reached a global audience and a new, younger generation of fans. In
November of last year, he recorded an inspired new album with London
psych jazz band The Heliocentrics for Strut's 'Inspiration
Information' studio collaboration series. The new retrospective
album features comprehensive sleeve notes by Miles Cleret, boss of
the excellent Soundway Records imprint, and rare, previously unseen
photos from Mulatu's personal archive.

R. A. The Rugged Man - Legendary Classics vol. 1 CD+DVD
http://www.accesshiphop.com/store/?itemid=18083
With only one official album released his 18-year career, R.A. The
Rugged Man's reputation still far exceeds rappers who have several
albums to their name. He is perhaps one of the most heavily
bootlegged underground rappers with hundreds of tracks and collabs
floating around out there somewhere. Legendary Classics collects
some of the best of the rest of those tracks with featurings from
Notorious B.I.G., Mobb Deep, Kool G Rap, Buckwild, Ayatollah, Jedi
Mind Tricks, Sadat X, Akinyele, Tragedy, J-Live and more. The
limited-edition collection comes with track by track commentary by
R.A. and a bonus DVD full of live performances, interviews and music
videos.

Royce Da 5'9" - Street Hop CD
http://www.accesshiphop.com/store/?itemid=17666
While his previous two retail releases were labeled albums both the
Bar Exam (mixed by Premier) and The Album (mixed by DJ Green
Lantern) were in fact mixtapes, but Royce's long awaited official
fourth studio album, produced mainly by DJ Premier, is finally here.
Street Hop drops just months after the critical success and positive
fan praise of his involvement with Slaughterhouse (the supergroup
collaboration with Joe Budden, Joel Ortiz, and Crooked I) and
features guest appearances by Bun B, Busta Rhymes, Phonte and his
Slaughterhouse cohorts.

Sene & Blu - A Day Late & A Dollar Short CD
http://www.accesshiphop.com/store/?itemid=18309
Brooklyn's Sene and Los Angeles' Blu (of Blu and Exile fame) have
collaborated for a true transcontinental classic, A Day Late & A
Dollar Short. Sene's lyrics and east coast swagger delivery
compliments the melodic musical backdrop that Blu produces.

Sha Stimuli - My Soul To Keep CD
http://www.accesshiphop.com/store/?itemid=18297
Originally signed to Virgin Records, Sha was poised to release his
debut album but due to the usual major label politics he opted to
control his destiny. Over the last three years he has released a
series of mixtapes that have hundreds of thousands of downloads. Sha
has been featured on tracks with the likes of Nas, Maino, Uncle
Murder and other mainstream New York rappers. Platinum Producer Just
Blaze, DJ KaySlay (Hot 97) and DJ Enuff (Hot 97) and Statik Selektah
have co-signed the Sha Stimuli movement. Sha has recently leaked a
track entitled "Follow The Leader" similar to the way Jay Z, KRS and
Buckshot addressed the Autotune issue and those who blindly follow
the latest trends rather than innovate.

Slop Opera - Gettin' Amongst It CD
http://www.accesshiphop.com/store/?itemid=18361
NorCal collective originally composed of Addamantium, J Slie,
Debris, Ross Rock and Mr. Bean, has now grown to eleven members also
featuring MC's and producers Aldojha, Turn The Page, Nectarbeatz,
Randomystics, and Jay Smith Biatch. Last month we picked up solo
albums from Addamantium and J Slie, whose styles are both
reminiscent of early Cage work, but both equally talented in their
own right, as their Cali roots give them a variety of inspirations
to draw upon. The crew drops raw beats and lyrics, sometimes raunchy
and weird, but everyone brings something different to the table and
perhaps my best comparison would be like calling the West Coast
version of Eastern Conference All-Stars and groups from their label
like High and Mighty and Smutt Peddlers.

The Snowgoons - The Trojan Horse CD
http://www.accesshiphop.com/store/?itemid=18082
The Trojan Horse is the fourth full length solo album from the
renowned German production crew and features guest appearances from
a veritable who's who of indie superstars. With the entire La Coka
Nostra crew (Everlast, Danny Boy, Ill Bill and Slaine), Dilated
Peoples, Defari, Termanology, Ruc (Heltah Skeltah), Torae, Skyzoo,
Poison Pen, Outerspace, Krumb Snatcha, Buckshot (of Black Moon),
Young De, Sabac Red (Non Phixion), Reef The Lost Cauze, Chief
Kamachi, King Syze, Doap Nixon, El Da Sensai, Kaze, Block McCloud,
Side Effect, Brainstorm, Virtuoso, Jaysaun, Edo G, Wise Intelligent,
Tribecca, Nut Rageous, Viro The Virus, Savage Brothers, Lord Lhus &
more, no one can contest the Snowgoons' dominance.

Soulico - Exotic On The Speaker CD
http://www.accesshiphop.com/store/?itemid=18096
Soulico is a 4 member DJ crew from Tel Aviv, the first DJ's in the
Middle East to master the trifecta of musical production,
turntablism, and live DJ party-rocking skills. Soulico has garnered
incredible respect and critical acclaim both for their original
songs and their unique mash-ups that blend Israeli folk and Jewish
melodies with American hip-hop tracks. Having released 3 mixtapes
with a combined 40,000 downloads, Soulico's full length album Exotic
On The Speaker features guest appearances by Ghostface (Wu Tang),
Del the Funkee Homosapien, Lyrics Born, M.I.A protege Rye Rye,
Pigeon John, MC Zulu, and Ceci Bastida, Tomer Yosef (Balkan Beat
Box) and more.

Swollen Members - Armed to the Teeth CD
http://www.accesshiphop.com/store/?itemid=17646
Swollen Members have risen to the top of the underground hip-hop
scene with a series of classic albums that have made them one of the
genre’s brightest rising stars. Founded by two of the Vancouver's
most recognized MCs, Mad Child and Prevail, along with the help of
DJ Rob The Viking, the group has created a huge fan base while
staying completely independent under their own label Battle Axe
Records. Swollen had taken a break over the past few years while Mad
Child dealt with some legal issues, but, the group has come back
stronger than ever with their brand new album Armed To The Teeth
which Prevail says "a prequel to another new album that will
becoming out in 2010 called Beautiful Death Machine." Featuring
guest appearances by Talib Kweli, Moka Only, Krondon & Phil Da Agony
(of Strong Arm Steady), Everlast & Slaine (of La Coka Nostra) Tech
N9NE and newly added member Tre Nyce. Also featuring production by
DJ Kemo of Canada's other most famously recognized rap groups The
Rascalz, Moka Only and more.

Tech N9ne - K.O.D. CD
http://www.accesshiphop.com/store/?itemid=18072
Tech N9ne has always been, in his words 'inside out'. He puts
himself fully into his music and his fans can definitely relate. He
doesn't tell stories, he recounts his life- with songs like
"Blackened The Sun" and "Leave Me Alone", he lets his music open the
door to his struggles and successes as well as his hopes and fears.
K.O.D. will definitely let the inside out as it provides another
window into the mind of Tech N9ne. Features guest appearances from
Three 6 Mafia, Brotha Lynch Hung and King Gordy as well as Krizz
Kaliko, Kutt Calhoun and Big Scoob.

Tenshun - Death Knockin 7" EP
http://www.accesshiphop.com/store/?itemid=18364
We usually don't hear from Tenshun all that much in a year, but 2009
was winding down and we were getting kind of anxious, after the
release of only two songs last year on two different split 7''
releases, one with Mormon Freegan and the other with Skrapez partner
Psychopop. "Death Knockin" features four new beats by the reclusive
DJ/Producer, plus one from his 2005 CD "Sloth." Comes in a handmade
silk screened cover and with and enclosed sticker (each one is
slightly different). Limited pressing!

Turntables on the Hudson - 10 Year Anniversary 2xCD
http://www.accesshiphop.com/store/?itemid=18070
From the label's one-sheet description: "10 Years in business is no
small accomplishment for anything in NYC! It's been especially
difficult to have parties under the Giuliani Administration and its
lasting dark tone it had on NYC nightlife. The dance Music scene
suffered for many years as a result and some say it's never fully
recovered. So what gives this on-going event the endurance to last?
It's all about the love of MUSIC... the love of COMMUNITY! This
homegrown event began in 1998 and continues to have the DIY spirit
that Nickodemus, Mariano & Nappy G started it with. In celebration,
Nickodemus & Mariano compiled a 2 disc CD the classics from the
catalog and the "New Party Favorites." These are the tunes that
really give you an idea of the diverse and upbeat nature of this
collective and their parties in NYC and around the World! Enjoy the
sounds with the new Turntables on the Hudson 10 Year Anniversary
edition!"

THIS JUST IN ON VINYL!

Metfly - Wiggin' Out LP
http://www.accesshiphop.com/store/?itemid=18344
As one half of the Overfiendz, Met Fly dropped his debut album in
2005, full of punch lines, cracks at your girl and much more. Very
dope and now on vinyl, thanks to French label Vulgar! Fans of
extended Shapeshifters fam will want to check this out! CD is either
most definitely out or very hard to find...otherwise you know we'd
be the ones stocking it! Word.
