:pThe Boogies monsters released some dope stuff in the mid 90's. back in the day a buddy of mine had a couple of tapes.
but over the years i never really saw any of their material, even at two different amoeba record shops, and a few other underground spots hear and there. anyway a while back finally came up on these albums from the same homez

boogie monsters
"god son" from 1997
&
"Riders of the storm - the underwater album" from 1994

anyone got this and bump boogie monsters from time to time. never heard anything about them except from my retired gangbanger friend who used to tag all the la spots before i knew him.:p

both Boogie Monsters joints have some solid material on them. nothing special but def. above average stuff especially even when compared to all the classic 90s stuff.

true.

pretty good for the mid 90's in my opinion, but yeah, nothing too special, just wonder why i never hear anything about them, plus their albums are close to impossible to find in stores.

What happened to them?

and its one of theeee most slept on albums ever...and you can quote me on that shit.

Riders of the storm...it'd be a serious manhunt looking for that one...and you'll pay a lot of money for it...

thanks wes! you always got the good knowledge homie.

i figured it would be a serious manhunt. my friend would bump that shit he had on tape, but we rarely bumped it due to it being on tape. he did have it copied on a sony mini disc as well but that did me no good. anyway, i finally handled business and got my hands on his tapes and made a digital copy(this was still a while back)...but over the past 8 years or so...even up until now, every time i went into a dope record spot that carried rarities(also throughout many different locations), i would always search to see if they had the boogie monsters. i have yet to see an actual copy of their shit. at amoeba in la i believe, there was a slot for "boogie monsters" but no album to fill the slot.

Slept on? I don't know any underground heads from the 90's that didn't have their cd's.

Mine are unfortunately scratched to shit. I guess at least I will always have the cases and can throw a burned disk in them lol.

Gotta disagree.

"Riders of the storm - the underwater album" is definitely a classic album IMO. 5 stars through and through. I own both albums on tape, and "God Sound" is tight too, but not quite up to the level of their debut IMO.

^^^Yep yep!! Recknoized Thresholds of Negative Stress IS THE PHAWKING JAMMIE!!!!

Thie 1st LP was real dope. The 2nd one... not so much. I know at least one person left the crew. There jsut wasn't the same vibe as the 1st. It had some jams though.

Keep these sort of threads coming. The sound samples sounded pretty good, some I'm taking a chance on a cheap used copy.

you def won't be disappointed with the boogie monsters. timeless. i brought it up only cause i really never hear anybody even talk about or mention them anymore, at least around my parts...old school for sure. and the sound is tight still til this day.
